The 2008 election will be decided by the Democrats' campaign against George Bush. He is the perfect candidate to run against, since he is not in the race.
Newt would win handily IF the voters were to listen to what each candidate had to say and reasoned with those statements. Unfortunately, that is NOT the way elections are held in the USA. About 40 percent of the population is going to vote for the Democrat candidate come hell or high water. About 40 percent of the population will vote for the Republican candidate for idealogical reasons. That leaves the great "Undecided" voters to actually decide the election. This group of people don't listen to what the candidates have to say other than the occasional sound bite. At the last minute, if they decide to vote at all, they will vote for the candidate they like at that moment for whatever obscure reason. (Much the way JFK bested Nixon in the 1960 first televised Presidential debate, Nixon lost because of 5 o'clock shadow, never mind what was said!)
What a way to run a country! Electing Presidents by the people that can't think and don't care!

Yes - John Edwards consistently wins in matchups with all Republicans.
After election 2004, Repub strategists admitted John Edwards was the candidate they feared the most. And so - they began attacking Kerry in the primaries - and Dems rushed to vote for him.
We need a moral and honest President who will speak Truth to the American people.
John Edwards will be a great President!

Hands down. Gingrich lost too much credibility on both sides. He worked with Hillary Clinton on health care.
