A half century ago, the US was unwilling to allow for the democratic self determination of the Korean peninsula and decided instead to set up a dictatorship in the south. What has it had to gain by imposing the division of the peninsula? Why did the US invade Korea when its people were engaged in a civil war over the terms of unification? What does it have to gain?

I had a makeover and was not given a pricelist for photographs-when we went to see them I was not happy with them but my partner got carried away and ended up buying a disc of the photographs on his credit card (to obtain the shared copyright) costing several hundered pounds. The next morning in reterospect he called to cancel. We have not recieved the disc, were not given any information about cancellations nor did we sign anything......We now feel that the manager of the studio is being illusive as he has not returned our calls. Are we within our rights to cancel? Anyone with legal knowlege out there? I have been worried ever since...........
thanks

and state the same things over and over again do you ever wonder how many of them actually work for the various campaign staffs and are just seeking to influence others thinking by planting seeds for their candidates and tearing down others? I know that politics induces strong feelings but it seems that a lot of the same people continue to beat the same dead horse by simply re-wording the same question. I guess there's no real way to know huh?

I'm sure you've heard what Bush's response was to the Deputy Aussie PM when he asked about Iraq.. "We're kicking a$$". I hope I'm not the only who finds this hilarious, yet embarrassing for the lack of.. well many things. What do you all think of this?! :)

This morning I woke up to an interview on the news with the president of Syria Mr. Al-Assaad I believe his name is.. Anyway he spoke of the border and how he supports the US but feels that the US is ineffective.WAIT Let me tell you why. This man has taken in 1.5 million refugees in his country. These persons consist of widows and orphans. He is now dealing with child labor and prostitution in his country because persons have no means of support. He feels that if the US is not going to make any positive decisions to the economy that they need to leave. Meanwhile their country is filled with refugees and is a desperate situation. Also I would like to make a note that Osama Bin Laden is proposing a new video this week to pry on the weak and misfortunate in this area Do you feel it is time to reconstruct the area before it breeds any more hatred ? Do you feel that we could begin building factories in Iraq near the Syria border to assist in distribution of supplies and begin a labor force?

As an Englishman who is currently in the USA on business i feel i must ask this.
Recently i was in a bar in New York trying to get blotto, as i consumed my 36th pint of American lager(=shandy)i felt the sudden urge to puke my guts up .The toilets were over the otherside of the bar so i decided to into spew into a ladies handbag which she had left on the bar.As i was spewwing into the bag i noticed the lady ask the barman for a drink without saying PLEASE.If this is how Americans behave no wonder people think they are rude.

How does someone forget their child? I don't care how busy they are. It is careless. Not to mention that the woman in the most recent case is an assistant principal. She is not only in charge of her children but in charge of countless others. This woman has no place in charge of any child if she is careless enough to forget her own and allow her child to die in a hot car after sitting there for 8 hours because she was busy inside the school.

Okay, I have 47 college credit hours and I'm thinking about joining the Navy. I was just wondering what rate I would be when I go to boot camp and also if GPA also factors in determining your rate? My GPA is 3.667.

Ok this is for my aunt and this happened to her today - she was driving her daughter to school and the car in front didn't move for a few mins because the woman was texting so my aunt beeped the horn. The woman began to stick to fingers at her and refused to move, my aunt stuck two fingers back an moved into the other lane to drive. The woman then drove side to her and began to take photographs on her phone of my aunt and her daughter, then drove in front with the gun signal in her hand and mouthed "your dead".

I think she's jsut a psycho but my aunt and cousin (who is only 11) are very shaken. What should/can they do?

During 1965 war India attacked Sialkot city by bringing its massive airforce & surrounded the city , barely 10 km from L shaped border by 600 tanks, some say 1000. That was biggest tank battle after 2nd world war. At night too tanks were orderd to fire. The small city having no river like hindrance could not be captured even 16 more days till ceasefire. Why ? What happened to all those 600 tanks ? How many of them were intact ? That was never disclosed. I know that India hit 243 Pak tanks . How many total no of Indian tanks were destroyed ? How many indian military fghter aeroplanes were lost ? Can anyone tell accurately ?

Getting a degree from Harvard is typically quite applauded compared to most average colleges.

I noticed that our school district recently hired a teacher who graduated from Harvard. The teacher will get the same salary as other teachers.

Would you like your kid to have exposure to teachers from prestigious universities? Do these teachers deserve the same pay or better pay?

How likely are our schools to attract more accomplished teachers if we pay them the same salary as other teachers?

Or, is getting a teacher from a prestigious university not worth while?

If you wanted to become a teacher, would you be wasting a ton of your own money if you went to a top-tier university instead of another college for your education since your pay likely won't be any better?

Do Dems end up giving us mediocrity by supporting teachers unions?
