The National Animal Identification System (NAIS) might appear to only an 'agriculture' problem that is of little interest or consequence to urban dwellers. But, this insane proposal - which compels all owners of farm animals to register each animal with the U.S. government - is a dirty, underhanded trick by big corporations (like Tyson, Purdue and Cargills) to put independent farmers out of business. If you don't believe this affects YOU, think again.
If this law passes, it will be virtually impossible for you to buy beef, chicken, lamb or pork from anything but a large conglomerate food processor who uses chemicals and adds additives to its meat products. Don't let this happen to YOUR diet! YOU will pay higher prices for contaminated meat if YOU don't help prevent NAIS from being passed into federal law! Go to any of these sites for more information:

I was just wondering with all the people that have problems and break laws due to behavioral disorders etc...when they're sent to a correction facility (is there only one kind?). Do they get corrected and how?

Why do they continue to expand their lead in polling for the upcoming Congressional elections....up to 18 points from 10 points last month...could it be that people are unhappy with Congress as a whole but realize that the Democrats are not the problem?

What do you think of our government and military personnel calling people who are hurt or killed in a bombing "collateral damage?" When did the lives of human beings become "collateral?"

In Toronto is there some sort of bylaw or legality that dictates when you are in a parking lot you must park in the clearly designated spots properly in between the painted yellow lines or is that just common courtesy? Sometimes drivers make their own spot or take up 2 spots but we've all paid the entrance fee into the parking lot so legally does it matter? It's bad manners at worst but is that breaking the law too?

**And I asked it in the Politics section, because you are the people I communicate with most here on Y!A.**

WABC7, the local New York affiliate of the ABC network, has decided not to air that reading of the names of those that died in the 9/11 terrorists attacks next Tuesday. Many family members are offended by it.

It has been six years. Do you think ABC is right in switching to regular programming and skipping the name reading?

Your thoughts on this matter are greatly appreciated.

Many people keep saying socialism has existed for a long time in the USA. They point to municipal services, like water and sewerage. I can only assume these people live in a house or apartment where someone else pays the water bill. All municipal services come with a user fee. You pay a user fee at the gas pumps in the form of federal gas tax to use the highway system. Even Social Security has to be bought into.
Then there's education. The public school system is designed to provide equal opportunity, not equal outcome. It too is funded by the community, not the federal government.
So where is the socialism that has been here for years. Where are the federal programs that are funded to provide equal outcome, not equal opportunity?

If by "our law", Someone who knows and stands by watching of a crime is complicite to the crime, then wouldn't God be a criminal? ( since god is all knowing and has the power & ability to control/intervene )

And, If thats the case why would people look up to him and worship someone like that?

Ohio has been a deciding factor in the Presidential elections in the last 2 elections. There was rampant corruption in the Republicans governer's office in Ohio, and, the state has been economically in a spiral downward since '01. Ohio elected a democratic governor, and Senator, last Fall. Recent polls show Ohio supports Democratic hopefuls over Republican hopefuls in a clear and definate advantage for the '08 race thus far. Will Ohio turn blue for the foreseeable future?

Maybe we can solve the concerns of many about the lack of health care in the USA.
Suppose we provide free health care for everyone over 65 because they are too old to work? We could call it something like Medicare.
Then we could provide free health care for really poor people who can't afford health care. We could differentiate between this program and the previous one by calling this by a different name, maybe we could call it something like Medicaid?
Finally, as a stop gap measure, we can make it illegal for a hospital emergency room to turn away indigent patients?
Well, what do you think? Seems to me like we cover all the needy patients and leave the working ones to pay their own way.

I want to find my Great-Grandad's WWI medals, they were issued to his widow in 1923, but now they're not in the family at all.
Is there any way to find out whether a collector has got them, and if so, who?
If I found them, how much do you reckon it would cost to buy them back? There's three-1914-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.
He fought in the Canadian Army, but was from Leeds, UK, and that's where his widow was when she received the medals, plus a scroll and plaque, which are also missing.
