Because he's black....not on anything remotely relating to whether he's qualified or not.

As an American citizen Ms. Winfrey is free to support whomever she wants. She probably agrees with Senator Obama's stand on a majority of the issues. Most people select one candidate to back. Why whouldn't she select one instead of a few or several?

A better question is why do we care who Oprah supports? She has the right to support whoever she wants and we have the right to listen or not. G. Dumbya got a 12 point bump in the polls by going on her show in 2000 but we didn't hear anyone calling her names then. She is one individual in our society, she is not a news person and she has the right to support or not support any candidate.

Hes not a bad candidate, hes bright and presents well, he has some good ideas too.
I don't think its just the fact that hes black, but it may give it a bit of oomph for her, after all we all feel that extra bit if the candidate is Scots Irish if we are, or Mormon if we are, its just an extra bit of spark, not the whole story.
He wouldn't make a bad president, I just don't think he has the seasoning to be president in Washington yet.
Maybe next time, or in eight years, though I think the next prez will be a one termer. We need miracles now and when we don't get them we will vote the next one out of office.

Why does a lot of people like Obama? He's smart, educated and they like him. As far as Oprah being a racist like some idiot said, I don't believe that. Many whites like Obama, so are they racists? Why would you question Oprah's choice? Its not like Obama is a bad choice, he's pretty good.

He's most qualified to represent the average American as he's the only one with a background in directly helping less fortunate people. He is not arrogant and is most likely not to forget where he came from. The rest are rich fat cats that will, and most have already,(if they are already in office) sold us out at any given chance. Be careful when these people talk about experience, it means they already know how to increase their own pocketbooks.

She's a racist...
It's the only logical explanation.
If she supported Hillary, Oprah would be a sexist. Fact and shameful really.

He is bright, well spoken. Good looking, and black. And he is the first black man that has a real chance at the white house.
Is that a pun there?

I guess she's entitled to her opinion, and as far as she is concerned, so is everybody else (entitled to HER opinion).
