How does someone forget their child? I don't care how busy they are. It is careless. Not to mention that the woman in the most recent case is an assistant principal. She is not only in charge of her children but in charge of countless others. This woman has no place in charge of any child if she is careless enough to forget her own and allow her child to die in a hot car after sitting there for 8 hours because she was busy inside the school.

YES! She should be prosecuted. Negligent homicide is a crime also. This child died a horrible death. The temperature inside the car was 140 degrees!

They don't forget them, and yes they should ALL be prosecuted!
One in Washington left the child in the car while she cleaned houses. The kid died!
One left their child in a car during a Patriots game and it was below zero. Thankfully a State Trooper found the child!
Too many kids die being left in a car and I can count the accidental ones I know about on 1 finger, and I have questions about that one as well!
Parents need to realize that a child's acid/base balance is quickly compromised and they die by their brains frying or their hearts going into an arrhythmia! And it doesn't take long.

In most states there are special vehicle and penal codes for leaving a child unattended in a vehicle, whether it is hot or not.
Not only are the parents or person responsible for the child prosecuted, DCS usually steps in and the child may be placed in a foster home while the parent is investigated for child endangerment.

I have invented a device to prevent any further loss of life from children or pets being left locked in cars on extremely hot days! I need people with venture capital willing to invest! Any person that has done that to her own children should at minimum lose her position as asst. principal because she obviously hasn't got enough concern for children whether they are her own or not! Where do they find these people at the bottom of the barrel?

I will say that it is negligent to forget your child in your car. But laws require a child must be put in the back seat of your car, because if put in the front the airbag is dangerous. So in many cases I believe it is out of sight, out of mind. I think that these people get really busy and just forget, which is no excuse. The recent case I have heard that she isn't getting prosecuted, I dont know why but that's what I heard. I am torn on whether to prosecute them or not. I feel like they were negligent, but then again I don't think that they do it purposefully. And really no punishment they receive will be worse than what they have already put themselves through.

I feel that the first incident of this happening could be a mistake; the other incidences that follow after the news reports are intentional!! If I were a parent and I heard this story on the news I would go out of my way to double and triple check my car to make sure it didn't happen to my child...instead now we have more babies baking in cars since the first incident!! How can anyone do that to their child??? Or any living creature???? (dogs get baked in cars all the time too)

Children and Animals should not be left in hot cars.I have gone and found people that have left dogs in a car.They say" I was only in here for a minute" say "well so far i've timed it and it's been 16 minutes".I call the cops first so they can't leave.
People that do that should be subjected to sitting in a car in the heat for 1 hour.See if they like it.
