Neighbor problems. I have this person who seems to not get the hint, that he is harassing us. I have tried to solve this by just calmly speaking to him, then shouting. Would a restraining order, keep this fool away? I have a secondary suggestion, but that is not legal. How much would it cost, and how to go about getting one?

My checkbook was stolen and the theif wrote a bogus check, basically signing it and writing down a fake SSN and phone#. It is Food Lion policy to check ID's on all checks. The amount is $135 and my bank has already agreed to pay me back. Because of this I had to close my account and open a new one. I am in the process of rerouting all my automatic deposits and withdrawals and had to file a police report in case a bunch of bogus checks are returned to me. Can I at least file papers and hope to settle out of court or am I barking up a tree that will eventually fall down on top of me?

"The defendants allegedly demanded and accepted payments ranging from $1,500 to $17,500 at any one time," the release from the U.S. attorney's office alleges. "In most cases, the defendants sought to establish and perpetuate a corrupt relationship with the cooperating witnesses to continue receiving bribes."

State Assemblymen Mims Hackett Jr. and Alfred E. Steele -- both Democrats -- and Passaic Mayor Samuel Rivera are among those arrested, the news release says.

I bought a pink razr phone from a store on ebay (paid $130, but thats alot for me- I'm in college!) it was supposed to be new in box, never opened, with motorola phone tools and a handsfree headset. I got it and the headset was fuzzy, the software didnt work, it was two different colors pink, and when i turned it on it was in some foreign language. I changed it to English but it had misspelled words like personalise instead of personalize etc.. Then the select button stopped working. Then the back button stopped working. Then the zero button stopped working. This is in less than a full day after I had gotten it. I contacted the seller, they offer a 7 day exchange but you have to get a return authorization #. So I emailed them and they asked for pictures I guess to see if I had harmed the phone. I sent THREE and havent heard from them. I have been emailing them for 4 days straight and NOTHING!!!!!! I am so angry! What can I do?

I am a 25 year old male, and I am thinking of joining the Navy. The situation is that I am thinking of marrying the mother of my child so we can be together before I serve and I was wondering if anybody thinks its a good idea because my daughter is only 2, but at the same time I want to build some type of financial security for her. Will I be able to spend time with her and spend time with my future wife? And if so, do you think that I will be able to be stationed where I originally enlisted at? Because most of her family lives here.

Why do u criticize Bush for the war when:
1. many of the terrorist involved in 9/11 were Iraqis or had a friend or a relative living there
2. Iraq did have WMD, we have found them all
3. Hussein and Osama used to hang out together
4. We are now highly respected all around the world for liberating the Iraqis.
5. he even "did" tears over our dead soldiers
PS: I need some advice from u guys, I have just been sold a beach front property in Colorado, Do u think I made a good deal?

Think about it: If you're born in another country -- Austria, for example, to borrow the example of a certain Governator -- and then you travel to the U.S., you have the status of being an "alien" -- which is a legal description of a person, yes? I mean a person isn't an "alien" because of some kind of "natural" phenomenon, but because of legal terminology. Am I right?

Then if you're an Austrian who take the U.S. citizenship test and pass, and then you swear an oath to be loyal to the U.S., then **poof** you've been turned in to a citizen, which is also a legal description. But this is called "naturalization."

What's nature got to do with it? The government changed it's legal description of what you **are** but your genetic makeup didn't change.

Indeed, some people will still call you a "foreigner" as soon as they hear your accent.

Can someone help me figure out why the government called this change-'em-from-an-alien-to-a-citizen event "naturalization"...?

Many of you want website links so you don't just think i'm blowing smoke, so here you go:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/05/20070509-12.html

Signed on May 9, 2007.

The Dictatorship Law states IF a Catastrophic event occurs before november 08 (election month), the elections will be stopped.
In the event of a "Catastrophic Emergency" :
Bush will be become Dictator..
Our states will be on lock down..
The Martial Law will go into effect ..
And Citizens will have to "prepare".

What does "prepare" mean?

Well, on December 17, 2003 a "National Preparedness" law was signed

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/12/20031217-6.html

and parts state:

Americans will have to go through "Training and Exercises" ... "State and local governments, shall establish and maintain a comprehensive training program to meet the national preparedness goal."

So, honestly, what do you make of all of this?

In the Mexico-Us war the Gringos Soldier were chanting: *Green Go* and *Go green Go*. Then the people from Mexico baptized them as Gringos(gringo is heard as greengo in Spanish).

And that's why we call you Gringos. It's not discrimination nor anything like that, it's just being realistic, because when I say *American*, I can be speaking of a Mexican, an Argentinian, a Canadian or any other nacionality within the American Continent.

i am from california and would like to know if there are such things as attorney interns or something like that....like law students that will take on cases just for the experience or maybe one that if they believed it would benefit them or the party involved, would take on the case in hopes there would be a payoff? See, i have an accident case that i was convinced into filling jointly with the other parties involved. I now know that i should have and could have filed my own separate claim and i do want to do so .... i just dont have the money up front to put out or the knowledge necessary to represent myself..... i dont think i do anyway..i thought it would be helpful if there were student lawyers that work on these kinds of cases ..... any info on something like this here in the state of california will be helpful and much appreciated !thanx!

"LeBlanc and his colleagues found that about 14% of these samples contained haplogroup A. This haplogroup is extremely rare in the Southwest, but it occurs in about half of the population of Central America. The intermediate frequency in the sample of Western Basketmakers fits with the idea that they migrated from somewhere in central Mexico."

Forenzic tests from ancient DNA in Utah have proven that ancient Mexicans have been here since 500 B.C.

Doesn't that mean that Mexicans are Indigenous people, and hence, cannot be illegal? And if they are illegal, according to whom? According to Whites (Europeans), who are not Indigenous?

Nothing in my Newpaper this morning. Hillary and Obama had Front page for their recent debate. Does anyone see a pattern? The same paper who did everything in their power to get Hillary Clinton elected. Their editorials are bruising to any Republican and Flattering to any Democrat. How can they discredit FOX?
