"The defendants allegedly demanded and accepted payments ranging from $1,500 to $17,500 at any one time," the release from the U.S. attorney's office alleges. "In most cases, the defendants sought to establish and perpetuate a corrupt relationship with the cooperating witnesses to continue receiving bribes."

State Assemblymen Mims Hackett Jr. and Alfred E. Steele -- both Democrats -- and Passaic Mayor Samuel Rivera are among those arrested, the news release says.

that's alright it won't get nearly as much media exposure, heaven forbid the media taint their precious Democrats.

Were is the "my s#!t don't stink" attitude now Democrats?

my whole thing is when our people do something bad they resign usually or take the blame, and I'm not saying the Republicans are perfect, but the Democrats don't take blame and then of course rub it in when a Republican gets in trouble.

Henry VII Ih ave seen alot of his posts and he has yet to say something intelligent. he says Republicans are hypocrites.

When just last week the Dems were blasting them for Craig, and he took the blame and might resign, now this happens and they blame the Republicans for blasting them like the blasted the Republicans can't get any clearer, case of Dem Hypocrisy, except for the Video of all the Dems saying how the would vote for the war, and they are the same people saying we should never go to war, even more of the Democrat Hypocrisy.

I love when people on here talk they make Democrats look so bad buy saying such ignorant things, they don't think he will get arrested, wow that still doesn't mean he did it, the one says he didn't plead guilty because it didn't own up to it like Craig did. Way to show the dishonesty of the Democrats.

People love to point out what political party was in the wrong...whether it be Senator Craig, or the Democrats in NJ that just got busted for corruption. For some reason people some how tie the crimes committed to the whole political party and use it for ammunition against them. I used to be a conservative but now I am in between. Both sides have strengths and weaknesses. For anyone to exploit a whole group over that alone is just as bad as racism (and we all know how horrible that is)..... People need to stop buying everything about their political party being the best and the other being the worst. That's not how life really is and it's not factual. Republicans and Democrats...GET IT THROUGH YOUR FREAKIN HEADS!!!! And for the record Liberals take the most cheap shots out of any political party. Republicans get their licks in but politics has turned into a joke.

Hahahaha! Very good! It reminds me when I had called the police about a "peeping Tom" and it took them 30 minutes to respond. (Keep in mind the police station was like a two minute drive away from my house). Of course the guy looking in my bedroom window was long gone by the time they got there. What did the officer say when he finally arrived? Buy a gun! My response was "that's why I called you." Their excuse for arriving so late? There was a stabbing that had previously occurred. Granted that was important, but did 100 police officers really need to be there? That pervert could of broke in, raped and killed me, then been off on his merry way within 30 minutes. So, that's my horror story concerning police. : )

11 busted for Bribery charges. It only goes to show that regardless of party, if you're a politician, you might be succumb to the power of the office and take liberties you shouldn't.

But really now, who here didn't think New Jersey was riddled with crooked politicians?

Nah, that must be a mistake. Democrats don't get involved in corruption. That's only for Republicans, right?

Oh, look! Now it's the "politicians in general are corrupt" excuse. They weren't saying that yesterday. And then there's the popular, "They only took 1,500" excuse. Only! I ONLY wish I had an extra $1,500 lying around." They're amazing, aren't they?

I think everyone agrees that both parties are made up of humanbeings which can be corrupt etc. It's wrong of the Democrats to ignore their own rats while they point to Republican's rats. Just like everything else, being a douchebag is a bipartisan issue.

These guys only took thousands of dollars (so far) and haven't "attempted" to do anything questionably immoral in a bathroom.

I like it how some of the libs/dems respond about as gently as Pepto-Bismol finally taking affect.

LMAO
