I'm glad she got deported. Hanging out in our churches seeking sanctuary - I'm suprised that our goverment allowed her to stay for so long. We should make an example out of her so others know we are serious about cracking down on illegal immigration.

Sanctuary Nation or Sovereign Nation: Which are we?

Sanctuary Nation or Sovereign Nation: It's Your Choice
http://news.yahoo.com/s/uc/20070815/cm_uc_crmmax/op_193566

Will the execution-style murder of three young students in Newark, N.J., finally turn the tide in the immigration enforcement debate? Will we at last abandon the deadly, chaotic, lawless sanctuary nation experiment and restore America's lost status as a sovereign nation under the rule of law?

The death of six innocent men and women and the injury of more than 1,000 at the hands of several illegal alien 1993 World Trade Center bombers wasn't enough to convince politicians in New York and across this country to end illegal alien sanctuary policies.

The death of nearly 3,000 innocent men, women and children at the hands of the 9/11 jihadists who exploited our lax entrance and visa enforcement policies in 2001 wasn't enough.

The death of 10 innocent men and women in the Washington, D.C., area at the hands of an illegal alien sniper and his bloodthirsty mentor in 2002 wasn't enough.

From New York to Newark to Seattle to Portland to San Francisco to Los Angeles to San Diego to Houston to Miami, lawmakers have taken this go-with-the-flow attitude toward illegal alien border-crossers and visa overstayers and deportation fugitives. "Let 'em come."

But in the wake of the Newark murders and the illumination of illegal alien gang crime penetrating the country, a new rallying cry came from the lips of Newark Mayor Cory Booker: "Get this evil out of my city." That won't happen without a demonstrated commitment to cooperate with the feds to enforce immigration laws and deport violent and dangerous criminal aliens first.

A few weeks ago, I launched deportthemnow.com. Nearly 8,000 volunteers have signed up to make their voices heard. Our top priorities will be to push for the adoption of a program known as 287(g) to identify criminal illegal aliens in as many cities as possible; to repeal "don't ask-don't tell" sanctuary laws; and to support lawmakers like Newark City Councilman Ron C. Rice, who is pushing a resolution to coordinate efforts between law enforcement when an illegal immigrant is charged with a felony, and New Jersey Assemblyman Richard Merkt, R-Morris, who proposed prohibiting jail officials from releasing illegal immigrants and requiring them to be remanded to federal authorities.

It's time for ordinary Americans to come out of the shadows and remind Washington every day in words and actions that we are a sovereign nation, not a sanctuary nation.

It has taken only 100 years for children to develop from the Victorian 'seen and not heard' type brought up to respect elders and authority, into the modern disrespectful gangs with no fear of the police. Where was the happy medium, when children had more freedom but still had respect. It seems that the rapid technological advances in the last century have led to a world where an 11 year old child cant play football in the street and there is no going back.

2 Va. counties OK immigration crackdown By SARAH KARUSH, Associated Press Writer
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070825/ap_on_re_us/illegal_immigrants_services

Ines Olivia Martinez wonders if her family will be denied medical care. Even her mentally disabled 13-year-old son has been anxiously pointing out police cars amid fears of a local crackdown on illegal immigrants.

Resolutions to deny a potentially wide range of public services to illegal immigrants have thrust two northern Virginia counties into the nation's immigration debate. The measures passed in July in Prince William and Loudoun counties join a flurry of recent efforts by local governments nationwide that believe the federal government has not done enough to stop illegal immigration.

The northern Virginia measures are also likely to face legal challenges. The Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund, which advocates on behalf of Latinos and other minority groups, has threatened to sue Prince William County. Other groups, including the American Civil Liberties Union, say they fear service restrictions will result in discrimination, but are waiting to see how the crackdown will be implemented before taking legal action.

Critics say the resolutions are a racist reaction to profound demographic changes in Prince William and Loudoun, two of the fastest-growing counties in the Washington area. Together, the counties account for 8 percent of Virginia's population, with more than 600,000 residents.

According to census estimates released this month, Prince William's Hispanic population has more than doubled since 2000, to nearly 70,000 last year. Non-Hispanic whites account for a little more than half of the population, down from about two-thirds in 2000. In Loudoun, the share of minorities increased from 20 percent to 32 percent.
For Martinez — who has lived in Manassas, in Prince William County, for two years — the resentment against illegal immigrants came as a surprise.

"It broke my heart," the 41-year-old Mexico City native said of the measure. "We were all thinking there would be an amnesty" declared by the federal government.

Deane said the measure could diminish immigrants' trust in police and make them reluctant to cooperate as witnesses. He also said denying recreational services could lead to a rise in the number of young people turning to crime.

Martinez said some of her friends and relatives have moved out of Prince William County because of the measure. Others are gearing up for a fight.

Hispanic activists are planning a weeklong boycott of all nonimmigrant, non-Hispanic businesses in Prince William County beginning Monday and a one-day general labor strike in October.

"We came to better ourselves as human beings because we also want a better life for our children," said Rocio Martinez-Lopez, 35, Martinez's sister. "People say, `We're going to another state.' I tell them, `No, we have to fight.'"

A family law attorny has caused me to have a bill about 5 x higher than it should be. What should I do? What is the likelihood I'll have success working with the Texas bar pursuing an ethics or malpractice breach? I think there's nothing weighty that would be considered malpractice except that he's lied a few times (I have that 2x on audio tape) and also he represented a fictitious amount when testifying about the how much he'd billed me. (He was too embarassed to tell the court the real amount which was double what he stated.) He's a horrible person and I was a fool. He has a reputation for gouging.

I will be protesting at the Republican National Convention and I was wondering if I could get arrested for having "The world doesn't believe that you're fighting for freedom, 'cause you f---ed the Middle East and gave birth to a demon" on a picket sign. What are the laws for protesting? The RNC is in Minneapolis in 2008. So I'm just wondering what the limits are for protestors in situations like that. Can you get in trouble for having cuss words on signs? Is there a website that goes over rights for protestors?

Please, no politics in here. If I could I would leave out the political aspect alltogether, but I don't think I would get an accurate answer relating to the situation. I'm asking this as a serious question.

I am in the Army and have been experiencing seizures. I don't think I have a disorder but next time one happens they will try to put me on heavy seizure meds which I do not want to take. If I refuse will they discharge me? Don't get me wrong, I will seek treatment when put out but I do not agree with the Army's means of controlling them. And no, I don't drive. I guess I just can't make that long term commitment to risky meds when this might be strictly environmental. Anyone know an answer?

I had a regular 4 year permit before, but it expired. My wife & I had a argument 2 years ago where she said a very ugly hateful thing to me. Even though I know I shouldn't, I grabbed her by the shoulders & told her to cool it. She then called 911. When the police came, she told them every thing had calmed down & the police left but came back later in the week & arrested me for spousal battery. (1st time I've ever been in trouble) The prosecutor offered me a diversion program where I attended 26 weeks of anger control classes, & the judge dismissed the charges. This was a class D misdemeanor. Are there any law enforcement people out there that can tell me if this will cause me a problem with receiving my new gun permit.
