Iowa Iowa Iowa

Edwards needs to win Iowa if he's going to win. He polls well there, better than nationally, leading or tied for first in most polls, but with Clinton leading so far ahead nationally its tough for him to maintain his ground. I think what he should do is maybe bring up the electability issue, "John Edwards is the only one that can get elected, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama cannot, do you want four more years of a Republican administration after 8 years of Bush" that's what helped John Kerry beat Howard Dean for the nomination. At the same time, he can position himself as an outsider, as he's already doing, compared to Hillary Clinton, he will need to pull ahead of Sen Obama to become the alternative to Clinton, and I think that's possible because it seems like Barack Obama's numbers are going down, but his are relatively stagnant while Sen. Clinton's numbers go up. He will need a siginificant win in Iowa as he will be expected to do well there, pick up some steam, as Clinton has the edge in New Hampshire, and then another win in South Carolina, he has a chance but for now it looks like Senator Clinton has the advantage but its far too early to tell.

I fully agree with you. As far as talking about what he wants to do, I think he is doing great right now. I think the right wing corporate media wants Hillary or Obama to win the primary so the Republicans have a better chance, and that is why they are playing them up.

Perhaps he can speak more openly and boldly about the Bush administration. Talk about the crimes they have committed and are still committing. How they stole the past 2 elections and how we need a voting system that cannot be tampered with so that we cannot be cheated again in 2008. Talk about the 9/11 cover-ups. Talk about how we are losing our democracy, and by following Bush we become like the dictatorships he claims he wants to eliminate. Talk about why the Bush Crime Family not only needs to be impeached, but why they need to all go to prison for a very long time. How these evil people are traitors to our country. Everyone is so afraid to fully stand up to Bush, maybe really standing up to him (and better explaining his crimes to the public) can set him above the others.

Hillary and Obama are really striking out as far as their comments on the war, terrorism and the republican party which are very worn out issues right now. John Edwards on the other hand is focusing on what is happening to the American people, i.e. jobs, taxes, medical care and lack there of.

He is first rate has tremendous potential. I think he could be one of the finest presidents this country ever had. If a man with that kind of ability and intelligence wants to step up to the plate and take over, we'd all be fools not to give him our support. This country needs all the help it can get. Don't let his hair cut and good looks fool you, he's very tough, proven, seasoned and ready to tackle the globe and give America back to the people. JOHN EDWARDS FOR PRESIDENT. GO JOHN! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I think Edwards has made too many missteps. He is no longer viable to win the primary. There is little chance any democrat candidate can defeat Hillary because they all seem, for whatever reason, to lack the fortitude to attack her directly. If they are too politically afraid to directly confront her I guess they are too weak to take on our enemies.

It is a smart move for both Obama and Edwards to have thier wives do the attacking since it may be perceived as unseemly to attack a woman but then Obama backtracks and Edwards fails to support his wife. That is worse than not attacking her at all.

The only way he could win is for the other candidates to drop out. He has ZERO chance of winning.
