Let's face it: As a nation, we need to figure out a non-partisan way to have representation that is working *for* us. I think our nation is deeply divided by screeching extremists in the media, which has gone from information and entertainment to mean and low political jabs.

What do you think? Regardless of your political affiliation, do you think there is a candidate or a party out there capable of actually Uniting our Union?

It is clear that the earth is warming, that is not questioned by anyone. But I hear that people don't accept the science which shows humans are playing a part in the warming. So what part of the science is disputed?

1. Greenhouse gases radiate heat. The more greenhouse gases, the more heat is emitted to earth, thus the temperature rises.

2. Humans produce greenhouse gases through unnatural means (i.e. burning fossil fuels)

And don't give me any circumstantial evidence that doesn't have to do with these two scientific points. For example, people say the other planets are also getting hotter. Fine, all that points to is that some of our warming might also be caused by the sun. But this question is meant to deal with the specific science that suggests humans are contributing to global warming.

Would you rather have a president who actually stands up for what he believes in, and doesn't give in to the liberal media. Or a president who just goes around telling people what they want to hear?

I am currently dating a Marine who is just finishing up his technical schooling. Last night he mentioned to me the idea of me comming with him, and following him around from base to base as he continues his moving. He said that he thought that there was a housing allowance/arrangement that the Marine's had for girlfriends, something along the lines of a seproate liviving quarters on base since we are not married.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience/knowledge on this matter? (He said he'd look into it as soon as he could, but me being me, would like to know if anyone knows now.) :~)

I apreshate any responce.

The ONLY real capital is earnings - wealth that was created by the private sector. Money is not capital - this is why inflating doesn't work in the long run.

In this country the primary tax is the income tax - the government takes some of those earnings, meaning the economy cannot reinvest them.

All a tax cut does is allow the economy to reinvest more of its earnings - to grow organically.

And that's precisely how it has worked since 1981 - why we've had steady growth and why a repeat of the 1970s is out of the question.

LIBS – I know you are excited to protest against America yet again but hold your FVCKING horses! We haven’t even invaded yet. We have fired no missles nor killed any Iranian terrorists.

So put away your “Surrender”, “Let’s Cut & Run” & “It’s the Evil USA’s fault” signs and calm down

Pop in a copy of Brokeback Mountain or light up some weed. Slip off your Birkenstocks and dive into some trail mix or your favorite soy based dairy product. Cindy and Michael will let you know when it is time to blame America and take to the streets.

Kia Vaughn filed the lawsuit alleging defamation of character in state Supreme Court in the Bronx the same day Imus settled with CBS Radio in a deal that pre-empts his threatened $120 million breach-of-contract lawsuit against CBS.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,293280,00.html

Are you kidding me? This is how I see it... you tell me how you see it...

What Don Imus said that morning was nothing short of racist and was a stupid bone headed statment that showed his lack of intellingence. That said... he did nothing illegal, was the target of a hypocritical with hunt by Al Sharpton of all people and was fired.

Kia, along with the rest of the team, HAD THE SUPPORT OF MOST OF THE NATION... they were appologized to and were invited to the White House. If anything these women were praised and gained respect for the way they handled the situation.

However, today... Kia took that all away. She sees deep pockets and she wants to dive in. Can you say "Gold Digger"?

I mean, come on... nobody is asking real quesions here anymore... every question is loaded, and for that matter really insultingly stupid... here's a few very recient examples of questions being asked:

-Do Y/A neoconservatives really believe we are spreading DEMOCRACY??

-How many douches per square mile in the South?

-Why is my neighbor who is a Republican and church deacon always inviting kids over for nature pictures?

-Are Guliani and Romney redneck enough?

Come on, what happened to real questions, or at the very least, real political debates, on real issues... this entire forum is becoming about as devoid of intelligent thought as is the surface of Mars, and as mature as a school-yard full of 3rd graders! Lately here you could call the president a Poopy-head and suprisingly you would NOT be the least intelligent sounding questioner here! Shouldn't we be striving for a higher standard?

Venezuela's Chavez Seeking to Change Constitution to Allow Perpetual Re-Election
Wednesday, August 15, 2007

CARACAS, Venezuela — President Hugo Chavez will present his blueprint for constitutional reform Wednesday, proposing sweeping changes expected to allow him to be re-elected indefinitely.

Chavez, who is seeking to transform Venezuelan society along socialist lines, unexpectedly announced late Tuesday that he would unveil his project before crowds of supporters at the National Assembly. He predicted it would bring renewed political upheaval to Venezuela.

Chavez's political allies firmly control the National Assembly responsible for reviewing his proposal as well as the Supreme Court. His critics accuse him of becoming obsessed with power and seeking to become a lifelong leader just like his close friend Fidel Castro.

Chavez rejects allegations that he poses a threat to democracy.

The words illegal immigrants define people who are officially in this Country without legitimate authorization and who have crossed over our boundaries of criminology. In the same light undocumented reference is intended to reflect the chaos and confusion associated with such criminology. Thus, the line between legal and illegal is thin and squiggly, and at best any idea of officially incorporating the two circumstances into a roadmap to U.S. citizenship is the equivalent of the Government officially granting a form of amnesty to criminals, which may open a can of worms that could completely infect our current criminal justice system with dire consequences of irreversible imperfection. From that point on how can there ever be a set standard by which to determine any legality, in a situation that began illegally?

Just as legalizing smoking pretty much destroyed America's health system, legalizing illegal immigrants may overwhelm the already stretched to the limit criminal justice system with civil and felony crimes, motor vehicle offenses and domestic disputes. At the time no one anticipated the extremely adverse effect smoking would have on America's healthcare over the years. Current statistics show that more than one hundred thousand people die each year from second hand cigarette smoke. And another one hundred thousand suffer from smoking related diseases at a staggering healthcare expense on the economy.

Smokers addicted to nicotine are hardcore liars who will do just about anything to continue their smoking habit; including outright pretending they don't know that their second hand smoke effects everyone around them from anywhere between fifteen and twenty-five cubic feet of air space. They have no consideration for their own children let alone other people's children or their supposed loved pets. In essence smokers are worse than illegal drug users. Unlike smokers, at least illegal substance abusers go off into their own little world and pollute themselves. In addition, smoking is the common link to most people going on to illegal drug abuse.

Using smoking as an example in which many people experiment with harsher drugs, it would only be a matter of time before amnesty granted illegal immigrants tire of doing the job Americans supposedly don't want to do, and begin competing with Americans for higher paying more prestigious jobs. As well, using smoking as a learning experience, it is inevitable that amnesty granted illegal immigrants will have a devastating effect on America's economy costing far more than their worth when it comes to healthcare, education, social services, pregnancies, housing and unforeseen mishaps.

One unforeseen mishap is that it would only be a matter of time before hardcore criminals behind bars begin using illegal immigrant amnesty laws to challenge the criminal justice system keeping them behind bars. After all, how can the law grant amnesty for whatever reason to people who are not even citizens of this country without granting some sort of amnesty to its own criminals who are behind bars for illegality? In my opinion immigration is not the answer to America's work force problem. Instead, why not kill two birds with one stone: Alleviate the overcrowding costs of America's prisons, by developing and supervising sentence reduction and early release work incentive programs for non-violent prisoners in exchange for them doing the jobs Americans supposedly don't want to do as opposed to amnesty immigration?
