that the current crop of Presidential candidates are "under qualified" when among them you have successful Governors (Romney, Richardson, Huckabee), and long standing members of Congress (Biden, Kucinich, McCain) among others?

George Bush was a 1 1/2 term Governor with a history of being a "less than successful" businessman. Are these candidates any less qualified than he was?

i hear some say that they are not paying taxes, but i do not see how that is possible. their pay is taxed, or at least it is supposed to be if the employer is doing the right thing. if they are renting apartments or houses they are paying property taxes to the land owner who is paying the state.
i hear that they are using the "public health" services, if their employers offered group insurance they would not be using the public services.
every time the immigrant buys something in Texas he pays sales tax, every time he buys gasoline in Texas he pays gasoline taxes and road use taxes. the immigrant is not exempt from taxes, he is paying the same as you and me.
Texas is a big state and we hafve plenty of room for more people who pay taxes to the state, like immigrants do

another Bushy trying to delay this war for bush until he gets out of office.
"I will recommend we downsize our troop levels, but we should not keep them to a force so small that we lose what progress we have made up until now"

There is no progress.
We cant keep the positions we have because theres not enough U.S. soldiers, plain and simple.

Theres too much territory to shift around, that the enemy resorts to being mobile.
Heck, we take a positon and move, and look what happens they overflood a different position.

This who aim is to make it so there are permanent bases in IRAQ,,thats the entire goal here.

Its time to pull out..we can pull out 10,000 troops per month
and as far as civilian contractors.....that should be the responsibility of the contracting companies, and on their own bill.

Why should the U.S. government give out no-bid grants to civilian contracting comapnies, then pay every one of their bills?
Thats a sham!
The biggest sham of them all.

And we're paying for that

I just visited mexico and I was appalled by the fact that it is indeed a 3rd world country. I grew up in one so i know one when i see it. How can a country be so proximal to the united states and still be a third world country? Some of the answers i got was that mexico adopted the spanish non-democratic govt ideals while the united states adopted the british govt for the people ideals. But it can't be that simple. After all spain is not a third world country and alot of other countries colonized by the british are 3rd world.
I have noticed that one thing that prospering country have over 3rd world countries is the idea of rights of the common citizen to protest and cause change in the govt policies. For ex, in texas, when it was still a mexican territory inhabited by some americans, mexicans and native americans, it was the americans (with the democratic mind set) that protested the influence and control of the mexican govt.
What do you think?

Liberals suffer from a number of maladies and delusions, but a couple are painfully obvious:

First, it seems that not only are they incapable of taking care of themselves, they cannot comprehend why they should be FORCED to take care of themselves. They are terrified of everything that is not pre-processed, homogenized and approved by an official governmental entity.

Then there's guns. Guns terrify many of them. That someone might actually own a gun sends them running to the therapist for Prozac and grief-counseling - it propels them into a state of hysteria. So, according to liberal logic, because they themselves are incapable of handling firearms, so too must every other American be incapable - therefore, the only sensible thing is to ban them and hope the police (who can't be everywhere at once) will save you

I personally don't care that liberals want to live under these false delusions. What bothers me is when they project their psychosis onto the rest of the nation.

Please read the following written in the NYT
On Nov. 12, 2001, The New York Times ran a front page article that began: "A comprehensive review of the uncounted Florida ballots from last year's presidential election reveals that George W. Bush would have won even if the United States Supreme Court had allowed the statewide manual recount of the votes that the Florida Supreme Court had ordered to go forward." Another Times article that day by Richard L. Berke said that the "comprehensive review of the uncounted Florida ballots solidifies George W. Bush's legal claim on the White House because it concludes that he would have won under the ground rules prescribed by the Democrats." On Nov. 18, 2001, Linda Greenhouse wrote in the Times that the media consortium's count of all the disputed Florida ballots — in which the Times participated — concluded "that George W. Bush would have won the 2000 presidential election even had the court not cut the final recount short."

So, any Comments?

I'd like to find the main talking points on the Iraq oil law, such as
pros and cons?
What the average Iraqi stand to benefit from it?

Here's what I already know from reading the law;
It distributes oil revenue evenly based off a populations scale
It opens two thirds of the Iraqi oil market up to foriegn investors, which was unheard of in Saddams time, but I fail to see how it benefits the Iraqi people over a state-owned oil system, why not follow the successful business model of Kuwait.

Also, when will the Iraqi Counsel of Representatives will vote on it?

I have seen several liberals like Jesse Jackson defend building a Palestinian state. Wonderful. If that *wonderful* state were to be built, it would be ruled by a bunch of suicide bomber bums from the PLO and all hell would break loose.

Of course, not all liberals are anti-semites, but the ones that are need to go back to their hobbie of pot smoking, allowing sinful women to kill their babies, bashing Christians, and spitting at our troops.

These guys get over $1,000 per day, per person. Why should the public be asked to pay for a private army deployed to protect private interests? If occupying Iraq is such a great business proposition, why can't the corporations who benefit pay for the private armies?
