i hear some say that they are not paying taxes, but i do not see how that is possible. their pay is taxed, or at least it is supposed to be if the employer is doing the right thing. if they are renting apartments or houses they are paying property taxes to the land owner who is paying the state.
i hear that they are using the "public health" services, if their employers offered group insurance they would not be using the public services.
every time the immigrant buys something in Texas he pays sales tax, every time he buys gasoline in Texas he pays gasoline taxes and road use taxes. the immigrant is not exempt from taxes, he is paying the same as you and me.
Texas is a big state and we hafve plenty of room for more people who pay taxes to the state, like immigrants do

it is good to see everyone is thinking.

when the immigrant pays his rent part of that money goes to school tax and part to property tax and part to the landowner to repay his investment.

when the immigrant goes to the store he pays sales tax, part of that goes to run the hospitals and the public transportation in Houston and in Texas.

i know the difference between illegal and legal, i also know that we will have a very hard time determining which are which. do we really want to go to the expense of taking all 20 million to court to determine who is legal and who is not.

my opinion is that we should embrace all of the people who are here and we should absolutely close the borders north and south to any further crossings.

additionally we should be able to fine any person that hires an illegal immigrant to the value of their entire wealth. that is to say if you hire an illegal, you loose everything you own

I assume you are talking about illegal immigrants.

You are right. When someone pays rent, part of the rent is used to pay the owner's local property taxes. The person who told you this is "written off" is wrong.

You are right about payroll taxes. IF they are on the payroll and not being paid in cash, they are paying federal and state income taxes AND they are paying the Social Security tax -- even though they will never get Social Security benefits from that money. IF they are paid in cash, their employer is cheating them of the employer's share of Social Security, and may choose to cheat them out of their pay partially or completely -- because an illegal immigrant cannot complain to the authorities. There is no one to punish employers who rob illegal immigrants this way.

You are right, if they are on a payroll, they may be getting insurance benefits from the employer. However, they may be using public health clinics. THIS IS A GOOD THING. Any sensible American WANTS to give medical cure to ANYONE who has a contagious disease, such as syphilis, AIDS, tuberculosis, or anything else. If an illegal immigrant has something contagious, the cost of NOT treating it and letting it spread is much worse than the cost of treating it.

You are right about paying sales taxes and gas taxes and toll road fees.

Illegal immigrants pay all or most of the same taxes we do, and they don't get the benefits of what they are paying for (for example, their state taxes pay for the state universities, but they cannot get into those universities until they become legal immigrants).

They pay taxes which support their local police, but they don't usually are afraid to call the police, even if they are mugged or if there is domestic violence. That's just one example of the services illegal immigrants pay for, but do not receive.

They pay federal and state taxes every time they pay a phone bill, or a gas bill, or a bill for electricity or water.

Most of the claims that "illegal immigrants don't pay taxes" are made by people who are only thinking of income tax, and who imagine that if you do not file a tax return, you aren't paying tax. That's not true. The taxes are deducted from the payroll automatically, and are paid whether the worker files a tax return or not.

The exception is workers paid in cash -- but those workers are lucky to get paid at all, and if their employer cheats them, there is nothing they can do about it. It's important to remember that when the employer is paying cash, the EMPLOYER is cheating the government out of the employer's share of various taxes.

Most "illegal immigrants" there is a distinction between illegal and legal immigrants. Illegal immigrants get paid in cash thus no taxation. Most live with relatives already in the United States so no additional tax revenue.

Have you been to a big city hospital? Go to the emergency room and you can bet some of the people there are here illegally. Your local property tax pays for those who are here illegally and cannot pay. What is left of the bill that isn't paid by local taxes makes the hospital have to charge more for services. His results in higher insurance fees for Americans with insurance. So you will be paying more year after year for healthcare insurance to cover those who are without it.

Now as you are waiting for your turn in line for a couple of hours you will notice that many cannot speak English. So one hospital employee has to translate. That means one less person helping to clear the waiting list due to the language barrier. That also means higher medical costs for bi-lingual employees which includes doctors and nurses.

The reason illegal workers are hired is because employers don't have to pay benefits and can pay them less than American workers. Thus if they can hire illegal workers or for that matter legal non - citizen workers cheaper than American workers then wages for American workers will decline as well as benefits. Simple business decisions.

As a further result if there are more workers than jobs then companies will use the cheapest labor force they can find. Why pay benefits to an American worker when a Illegal worker or a green card worker will do the job cheaper? Trust me the streets are full of Americans who would love to work. They are on the street corners begging for handouts. When All Americans have jobs then it is time to allow more workers into the country.

Illegal can't receive employer benefits, legally. The only way they are is if they are using false ID's and that is pretty risky as insurance companies aren't in the business in giving ppl benefits that are fraudulent.
That doesn't say that clinic and hospital don't treatment them if they come in just that insurance don't pay, which leaves the American tax payer paying the bill.
To cut to the chase if is very well documented and has been for many years that illegals are not paying taxes other then local retail taxes.
They like to say that they pay SS tax when in fact it is the employer who pay it. It is a match tax so if they pay a $1 the employer pays a $ 1. SS taxes are very little as it is based on wages. Many employers who hire illegals pay both ends it is cheaper that way.
Now legal immigrants do pay taxes but not illegals.

Room in regards to more people has nothing to do with space unless you are doing nothing except standing there doing nothing. it has all to do with resources. Many of those resources when gone can never come back.
There are many areas in the world that have large land mass less population and are having difficultly substaining quality of life do to a lack of Natural resources.

You should be learning that in High School but maybe you have'nt yet. You will, then you will understand a term called. "Carrying Capacity" which mean land mass has nothing to do with substainablity.

Obviously you're trolling and since you certainly don't seem to have a clue about anything you are talking about I'll answer I guess.

The term "Under the table" fits here. Most of the criminal illegals are paid cash by employers on a daily rate "Day labor". This cash has neither FICA, SS, Medicare or any other state benefit pay taken out.

Once the criminal manages to have a child then the child receives WIC, Welfare, Medicaid and any other handout the criminal can find. This is usually facilitated by someone guiding the criminal into how to maximize their exploitation of the system.

The criminals family often times has a face or stolen social security card that they use at hospitals to avoid paying a bill. That bill does not go away it ends up costing the hard working American Tax payer in the end.

So overall all of your blow hard inaccurate rhetoric is simply a waste of bandwidth. These criminals should be forced to pay back what they have stolen then banished from the country in perpetuity.

Besides, paying FED tax is different than STATE tax. The taxes in Texas are high because you don't claim STATE tax on your check and then get a refund.

Even if poor people pay all the taxes they owe, they pay less than their families use in services, particularly services like education at $10,000 per child per year in California. We subsidize our own poor and an allotment we legally allow in. We do NOT sign up to spread our children's education funds over millions who would not be here if their parents hadn't come illegally.

And by the studies I've seen, about half pay taxes and a large portion get refunds from income credits, which we also subsidize for our poor.

You so eliquently discuss immigrants as if illegal immigrants and legal immigrants are one in the same. Obviously you have no clue what you are talking about and are so uneducated you can't distinguish between legal and illegal immigrants. Your pro-illegal propaganda is filled with foolishness as are most pro-illegal supporters. Since you touched upon the subject of equality when mentioning, "the immigrant is not exempt for taxes, he is paying the same as you and me", let me explain equality a little bit further for you and the rest of the simple-minded pro-illegals. Equality is waiting in line to enter this country just like everyone else did. Equality is paying all forms of taxes just like real Americans do. Equality is not being satifised with freeloading of the American people. I'm sure that you, just like most pro-illegal supporters, are so extremely proud of the country you fled and that offered you no opportunties and yet you treat America, the country that has given opportunity to you, as if you can't wait to rape it at any given chance. Clearly, one might question your lack of loyalty in America given your continual raping of America and the fact that your loyalty to the country you love so much is represented by you not even being in that country. You people have no concept of what a great nation is, you didn't come from one, so stop pretending you know what it takes to sustain a great nation because you have zero experience.

If you're right, then we would ultimately benefit by offering free transportation from every nation in the world to the U.S. with no strings attached. We'd be richer because they'd ONLY be ADDing to our economy, not draining from it right?

Ask yourself, "What is really so different about the United States that makes living here so attractive?"

Every logical answer will have one thing in common: without a strong legal system, it would NOT exist. Illegal entry into the US and visa overstays ARE destroying the foundations of LAW that make this nation enviable.

To weaken that foundation is to deprive future generations of hope. Much wiser for all these people to learn from us and establish similarly reliable systems in their own countries.

It is generally know as cash in hand or under the table so no taxes are paid as they would need a SSN. to pay taxes and to get a SSN you need to prove that you are legal, so Legal immigrants get a SSN illegals do not

With regard to renting a property is not in their name on the tax bill; it is in the landlord so the landlord is paying taxes not them.
