You have got to be kidding me... The law should not favor any religion period.

Do Christians get immunity during Lent or at Christmas? Do Jews get immunity during Passover?

This is ridiculous.

Could be because then the Police have to provide for food at Iftar (time when the fast is opened after sunset) and again before dawn (sehri) the next early morning.In which case they would have to deploy a person to arrange for food for the Muslim detainee while the others would be eating on regular timings.

Sorry. I don't agree. If you break the law, you should be arrested regardless of any religious holiday. The police arrest Christians on Christmas, so they should not make exceptions for any other religion.
