The Treasury Department reported that federal revenues reached $2.12 trillion ($2,120,000,000,0000) for the first ten months of fiscal year 2007. In both current and inflation-adjusted dollars, that puts the federal government on course for the most revenue it’s ever collected in a year.

Indeed, it’s the most revenue any government in the history of the world has ever collected. And yet it’s not enough to satisfy the voracious appetites of the spenders in Congress and the administration. Spending was $2.27 trillion for the same ten months.

It seems that the deficit problem in Washington is not a result of insufficient tax revenue but rather the inexorable growth of spending on everything from earmarks to entitlements to war.

How can the democrats be clammoring for more taxes? When is enough enough?

The Democrats got elected on a mandate for change and are completely useless. On the 1-100 suck scale, the Bush administration tops off at a solid 100, while the Democratic congress gets a 98. Which means, I no longer want either party in office. What do you think?

Are some things in life just too predictable?

Democrats In Congress Passed A Budget Resolution That Calls For $205 Billion In Additional Domestic Spending Over The Next Five Years – And Will Lead To The Largest Tax Increase In American History. If Congressional Democrats allow the tax relief we passed to expire:

Those with children would see their taxes raised by $500 per child;

The average family of four making $60,000 a year would see a tax increase of more than $1,800 a year;

Around 26 million small business owners would suffer a tax increase of more than $4,000 a year;

and 5 million low-income Americans who currently do not pay income taxes would be forced to once again pay income taxes.

For my job, I brought about 20 cases to small claims court. One came to my office and paid me today. On the Notice of Judgment or Disposition, it says "Once a judgment is paid in full, the recovering party shall file a written satisfaction of the judgment with the Court Clerk." Does anyone know exactly what this means? Do I have to go to the court? Or write a letter? What

I met a man yesterday who is a self made multi-billionaire. Yes, I said BILLIONAIRE/ He started with nothing and his companies world wide now employ about 50,000 people. He is a genuinely good person. He gives generously to charity. What's the beef that some people have with this kind of wealth.

I've seen lots of post here from both parties claiming the other party is either too lazy or unpatriotic to serve in the military. So here's a very informal and far-from-scientific poll.... What's your party affiliation (if independent, which way do you lean on the issues)? and Did you serve (or are you serving in the military)?

who makes over $200,00 annually should give everything over $200,000 to the government. I asked him how much he and his wife make annually and he said alittle over $100,000...something tells me that if he and his wife made over $200,000 annually he would feel anything over $300,000 should be given to the government....my question is...how many libs agree with him, and what do YOU consider rich??..

I'm not disputing Fox's standing in the Nielsen's, just wondering how there could be a liberal media bias if the number one news organization in the country provides "fair and balanced" news.

I have these neighbors right across the street from me, they continually drink and deal drugs right in their front yard. The cops are called over & over and nothing is ever done about them. They are becoming more violent towards each other & my family, my kids can’t even go outside with out them threatening my children, my kids are 12 & 6 and when my oldest goes to the mail box they call her a whore and tell her “you better get your B*tch As* back in your house.” When we open up the windows to get some fresh air they start screaming at us. We’ve called the cops, they come and then nothing. We can’t join the neighborhood watch because they’ve already threatened us so many times we’re afraid that they’ll shoot us. We can’t even go outside without them constantly yelling and cussing at us (they know we’re the ones who keep calling the cops and that makes them angrier) What can I do when the Cops won’t do anything? I’m not even allowed to video tape them because it invades their rights.

its been proven that raising taxes on cigarettes discourages smoking. liberals are all in favor of raising taxes on gasoline to encourage public transportation and car-pooling in an effort to curb demand. a chicago city alderman wants to raise taxes on bottled water to cover the water and sewer budget shortfall and to save the environment.

so, if liberals can use those arguments as proof that raising taxes discourages a certain activity, then do liberals want you unemployed?

This is what people say who are truly ignorant of tax law, which is sad to say, most people.

FACT: In 2001, I got my refund and many other people received a refund check as well.

FACT: Bush did lower the tax rates, but it is not that simple. If you really take a look and understand what happened, there were many changes in the tax law that were really aimed at the rich. It was a tax cut disguised to target the very wealthy. Not too many people would know that and most would look on the surface and say "The Republicans lowered the tax rates." Its really clever how they do it, but they did it.

The most obvious one (there are many) is his lowering of the capital gains and dividends tax rates. Who is this really going to impact? A family of making $30,000, very little.

It will benefit people who are generating very large amounts of dividends and capital gains.

I only know this because I am an accountant in the industry. Ask a CPA, they'll explain it.

Can you help me broaden this list? I'm looking for examples that are PRESENT DAY, that I can look up & find more info about. At minimum they must be illegal in the USA. It would be better if they were legal in the countries they occur.

1. Legal Islamic stonings. ex. http://www.apostatesofislam.com/media/stoning.htm

2. Known orphaning of children. Example:
http://nhocca.org/uk/index.html
"The Nepalese government offers no help to these children..."

3. Legalized Child Prostitution
Nepal/Costa Rica/... African Countries

"I cannot fathom why Costa Rica would go half way in ... allowing legal child prostitution through a loophole that allows married children to legally sell their bodies on the streets."

4. Child Labor

If we had a democrat president and he made all the same decissions concerning the war how would the american public respond? The largest part of the media is of course liberal based. Would it all been reported differently? Do you really think that today you would have the same attitude?

Media is a powerful tool. Perception is stronger than fact. I dont think you would feel the same way because I really feel it would of been reported differently. Unfortunately many never seek the facts, they accept the media reports.

I personally think that we should should call him Mr. President, Mr. Bush, or the President. I know many, many people who call him Bush. Even if you don't like him, he IS our president. If we don't show him respect, then i doubt that other nations will respect him, regardless of what he does. I was just wondering your opinion on the matter.
