What's ironic is that this comes from The Washington Post, which I believe is a liberal publication. Recently John Livingston, of Washtington, D.C., was doing some research at the Library of Congress. While looking at page two of the November 2, 1922 edition of The Post, he discovered an article saying that scientists were reporting increasing water temperatures in the Arctic Ocean, which were causing icebergs to melt. This news, coupled with the revelation that 1934 was the hottest year on record, really blows a hole in Al Gore's attempt to promote global warming as science. The cry from the left several years ago that the planet was cooling (and it probably was, I don't know) just adds credence to the real scientists' claim that the earth's temperatures go through repeated cycles of cold and warmth and always have.

I received a red light camera ticket at Washington and Helms, in Culver City. Its another one of those revenue producers for Culver City, as there is no justification for a camera at that intersection which probably has very few accidents. I was doing 36 miles per hour, not speeding and not attempting to beat any light. The ticket shows I only missed it by 0.12 of a second, in other words around one-tenth of a second. I don't believe a police officer in person would ever have issued a ticket. Is it worth fighting this ticket? Does anyone have experience with this, especially in Culver City? Is it worth buying a book I saw online to fight the ticket? I believe Culver City has one of the greediest policies in the country for bilking its citizens, and espcecially those just passing through. Its a small city with about twenty cameras, and they write parking tickets like you wouldn't believe. What is the best way to fight the ticket, go to court or by mail?

Say in the 1930's in America there was a family of a Mom, Dad, and daughter. Suddenly the couple (mother and father) go missing for a long time or die or something. Would the daugher inherit the land if she was a legal adult? I know women didn't have the same rights as men in he 30's.....

it seems that no matter what the topic of a given news story is, everyone always wants to use it as proof that their retarded political opinion is valid. read this article, then see if you can use it to advance some sort of political opinion that you have.

The fact is there are illegal immigrant from all over the world but you only concentrate on Latinos, maybe because they are the majority. Whey don't you complain about other races? Russian, Canadian, Indian, Irish, etc. I welcome all immigrants that are want to come here and make a better life for themselves! This country would be nothing without immigrants! Who build the railroads, whose food do you eat? Pizza, italian. Don't get me started about Chinese and Mexican food, because you know you love it! The US would be so bland without other cultures. Not everybody got here legally either. America counted on immigrants to make this country what it is, READ your history and stop the ignorance!

We have seen, with previous elections, that the results of the debates have no effect upon the voting patterns of the public. GWB lost all his debates to Kerry, but he was still elected.

The question is this...do people really and truly listen to the candidates with an open mind, or do they just vote along the party lines for which they've registered? And if thats the case, why is so much money and time spent on the campaigning process?

Do you agree or not? I am undecided at the moment. Being a girl myself wants me to say yes,but also say no because of all the emotional control issues some of us ladies can have.

Really, people seem to hate their political opposition so much that they're willing to say any crazy thing about them. Like all the crazy things people say about Bush, or the Clintons. Can't we just agree to disagree and try to find common ground?

Doesnt anyone feel sorry for Robert Hanssen, the guy who caused the biggest breach in the cia in USA, for having 23 hours solitary confinement for the rest of his life, and one hour just public contact....

For just violation of the Espionage Act which he pled guilty to. For $1.4 million in U.S. secrets that, in the end, didn't do that much damage (or at least visible damage) he gets 23 hours solitary confinement. Doesnt anyone find that harsh. I find that worse than death...

Talking to a retired Para who served under fire in WW II, he told me that after the German surrender, a combined British/German force was sent to Norway to await a suspected invasion from Russian troops. Of course we all know that this invasion never happened.

I do give some credence to his story as I was in the Parachute Regiment at the time that I met this old guy in the Regimental HQ.

I have never read or heard about this joint force. So could this have really happened, or just one of those "Old Soldier" tales.

Can anyone of you shed any light on the matter?
