My ex-sister in law grabbed my brothers cell while arguing in a bar and destroyed the phone. Unfortunately the phone was actually mine. Is there any kind of legal action I can take against her to get repayment to replace my personal property?

I attended a Massage Therapy school, and had purchased the school books (Almost $400 total). Well, I withdrew from the school because I didn't like it in anyway, but was still charged for the books.

I wanted to sell them off to try and get a little bit of the money back from something I didn't really want. Is it illegal for me to do so, or since I paid and own them, are they now mine to do with what I want?

Does it seem like most of the questioners on here aren't really intersted in answers but simply validation to their own beliefs? maybe peole should try to listen to opposing sides of the arguement, is that too much to ask?

We’ve been married for a year. Recently my husband was charged by the police for shoving me during an argument. We separated as a result.

At the court hearing, he was found not guilty. But the magistrate placed him under a restraining order.

This marriage was pretty much over. We weren’t in contact at all.

Recently, he called saying he really misses me. But he was very hurt by this whole thing so he was staying away. I was so happy to hear from him, and told him I loved him.

What are the chances of this getting better?

PS: Our families are advising us to move on instead after this ordeal at court.

Kia Vaughn, from the Rutgers basketball team which Imus referred to as "nappy-headed hoes" (for those of you who don't know, it is a common phrase in rap songs and usually is meant as a compliment), is suing him for defamation of character and slander. She says that this shock jock damaged her reputation by using a slang compliment from rap songs.

This comes on the heels of Imus settling his breach of contract lawsuit against CBS, which is now willing to give him his job back.

Is this new lawsuit the most ridiculous you've ever heard of or what?

My husband is in the reserves, he's been in five years with a rank of sergeant and mos- personnel. He wants to go active but he has a prior domestic assault(serious misdeameanor) charge from over a year ago. He has completed probation and is no longer on it. So we were wondering if this would prevent him from going active. Thanks so much for your help!

Hypothetical situation: in a car accident, the person at fault causes an accident which kills the other driver. However, the surviving driver also has severe brain injury and will have to spend the rest of his life in a hospital. Will the prosecutor still be obliged to go after him with charges of vehicular manslaughter and try to land him into a prison?

I have a strong desire and passion to serve this country (If you're going to talk me out of it, don't post an answer) but my dad doesn't approve. He says I'll lose all my morals and values, but I don't see it that way. His opinion means the world to me, and I don't want to hurt him by disobeying, but everytime a good war movie or something on the news comes up, I get this gut feeling I should be with those "brothers and sisters" in arms. If I went into the military I'd probably be an MP or a Medic. I want to talk to recruiters, and try and get them to talk to my dad, but I don't want to disappoint him. Any thoughts?

Deep inside, i really dont want to fight. I didnt join the US army to do harm on americans. I'm receiving derogatory statements and with threats over the internet from individuals that have too much pride. I dont want to use a hand-gun, knife, taser, or anything that will bring up ideas on the opposite side if i show these weapons. I just want this unneccessary violence to stop without having to use any self-defense inventory.

What can I do to stop these threats?

I was too quick to save these statements that were written to me. I fear a mob will come to my house and destroy my property. Help!

I read a comment on Philippine Star dated 14 August that asks the question, “are we sending soldiers in Mindanao to be killed and why don’t they have check points?” I think that comment was reckless, it was written to taunt the capabilities of the soldiers. And checkpoint in the marketplace of Jolo, Sulu, well you are really sending our troops to manslaughter huh? Obviously, you have not been there or you don’t know the real scenery there. I bet, if someone will give you a million to join the battle and defend the territory, you wouldn’t? This soldiers, who some leftist barrate are heroes, but did you see them barge on the street and shout justice during the time of beheading of the marines? No of course and yes, that was part of the marines’ job so they don’t care. Yet, what we are forgetting here is that, these people are human too, brave indeed-or maybe not. They just want to earn 12 thousand pesos a month (loan and salary deductions not included) to feed their children).
