read a report on news the other day that one prison was in a bad state of repair, and they were moaning about it, and also moaning that there budget of £22000 per year per prisoner isn't enough. I was shocked. How can it possibly cost that much per prisoner for a year? That is ridiculous. That is equivelent to my husband's wages for a year, and he has to provide for two adults and three children and our dog, two cats and two guinee pigs out of that.
The government needs to sort this out, they are prisoners and should be treated like it. They are supposed to be being punished, not having luxuries that some hard working families just cannot afford.

i think it is about £138:00 a week,
but then you have to take into account jail is more like a business these days then a place to correct people who commit crimes.
Jails grow food flowers that is sold or used back in the jail to feed inmates.
all hospital bedding is made in jails and even washed.
Some company's even have inmates packing things in boxes to which the jail gets paid.
also it cost more to keep a cat A inmate who is more dangerous then a cat D
but it is about 138 quid a week X 52 which is the figure i gave

Too damn much.... Too many colour tellys, and gymnasiums provided and Internet use.... (yes !! WHY ?!!)
Prison should be a PUNISHMENT and not nice and cosy and comfortable. Make prisoners work (and work bloody hard too) for the society they abused, and maybe then... it would deterr a few young idiots, rahter than being a lifestyle choice.

i'm fairly effective that the effortless is £40 5,000 consistent with 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. that is because of the fact there's no longer purely nutrients to grant them with, yet there are direction for them to do, they supply inter penal complex jobs and pay them for it, there are gyms and libraries, which value to maintain working. wish this helps :)
