I attended a Massage Therapy school, and had purchased the school books (Almost $400 total). Well, I withdrew from the school because I didn't like it in anyway, but was still charged for the books.

I wanted to sell them off to try and get a little bit of the money back from something I didn't really want. Is it illegal for me to do so, or since I paid and own them, are they now mine to do with what I want?

Yes, you can sell them.

But be careful with the notion that you can do what you want with them. Though the physical books are yours, the stuff in them is the intellectual property of the author, publisher, etc. So you can sell them, burn them, use them as paperweights, but you can't copy them and sell the copies.

You might contact the "school" and ask them to allow you to return the product,

$400 for books seems high so the price probably, most likely, included some instruction you didn't receive.

Otherwise you had better contact competent legal counsel.

In my opinion, so much is sold at .25 cents on the dollar, if not a car, boat or plane, but there is probably someone out there you can reach in a free local ad that might like the course books for reference material or personal home use. They may even agree to your starting price of $200.00. I'll cross my fingers for you!

Something called the first sale doctrine entitles you to resell anything that you've legally purchased. Even with a contract, the buyer may not be legally obligated to do anything once the sale is completed.

They are yours. You can sell them unless you signed a contract precluding you from doing so. Remember that you don't own the content, however, so you can't duplicate them and sell copies.

you can sell them.
try craigslist, or putting them in the paper/classifieds/oh check to see if the school has a wanted/for sale bulletin board... maybe you can put up a flier

Yes, you can sell them. You paid for them, they are yours, you have every right to do with them as you please.
