No. The Recruit Depot at Parris Island is open for all interested persons to attend recruit graduations. Just remember you must have photo ID and proof of insurance for your vehicle in order to obtain a temporary vehicle pass at the gate. That includes rental cars. That process may take time, so leave extra in order to get to the site of the graduation.

Ever since 9-11 you will need an invitation to attend. Just make sure your Marine knows you want to attend. Remember he will only have two invitations in which to grant, so be understanding if he wants mom and dad there instead of you.

Also follow the tips of the poster above when it comes to your license plate, insurance, and other requirements to get through the gate. Your Marine will have a packet for you along with your invitation if he so chooses.

To access almost any post you must have a valid drivers license, current proof of insurance and the vehicles current registration. I just attended my husband graduation in GA and all they asked for on graduation day was a valid drivers license of the person to be driving. I would take all just to be sure.
