Can't complain about that unless you're a communist, or an American who has failed miserably to educate him or herself and can't earn a good living as a result.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being ultra rich. However, as Warren Buffett pointed out, it is a shame that he, a multi-billionaire, paid a lower tax rate than his secretary who earned $60,000.
Many very rich individuals, who have earned all of their money through their own efforts, realize that the huge wealth disparity in this country is not being helped by regressive tax policies. Just because you’re rich doesn’t mean that you don’t have a conscience.
Some wealthy individuals such as Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, and others, are also actively trying to address issues of persistent poverty and hunger.
In addition to providing employment to many people with decent wages and decent benefits, some extremely wealthy individuals recognize the realities of society and try to do something to help those who are less fortunate. Some also recognize that some sacrifice on their part may be necessary to try to bridge the wealth disparity in this country and help make this a more equitable society. They'll still be very, very rich.

permit's commence with all the millionaires in Congress and the White abode. Then paintings our way around to all the media moguls and the wealthy athletes, first. What approximately billionaire foreigners like George Soro's who throw their left wing funds around manipulating our political technique. What area of "tax human beings making $a hundred,000 a three hundred and sixty 5 days" sounds wealthy to you? it is who is going to get hit the worst, watch and notice. in case you think of that elitist communard interior the White abode cares on the subject of the damaging, you're regrettably fallacious.

Nothing is wrong with being rich - as long as they pay a fair share of the tax burdon.
When the rich have as much left over from thier income after taxes (percentage wise) as I do then we would be approaching equity.
But they don't , they have teams of lawyers to protect and hide their wealth from taxation - in buisness, investment etc.
The government is floating (bailing out) the sub-prime loan sharks (also billionairs) after they took a beating in the market but virtually eliminated bankruptcy filings for folks like me.
The rich should be taxed more - much more! If they do not like it then they can go get rich someplace else because they are of no practical use to the average american.

Nothing.
So long as you remember where you came from.
If every rich individual acted as you described, then the world would be better off wouldn't it?
Sure some are envious and bitter towards others, but that isn't any better than the greedy guy to most.
For most it isn't the wealth, its the greediness and ruthlessness that got the wealth that is nauseating. The phrase, "digusting display of wealth", came from the actions of the wealthy not the wealth itself.

It depends. Did he screw over people to get to the top, people who did nothing to him? Does he employ child labor or exploit the poor in third world countries to do his manufacturing, trashing th eenvironment in the process? Does he bribe and threaten politicians and competitors to get what he wants? Does he smash anyone who gets in the way of what he wants?
If the answer to any of this is "yes", do you really think the fact that he gives to charity is going to absolve him? Might he not be throwing coins at a problem he helped create in the first place?
These are the questions I might ask. If he came by his fortune honestly, then who would have a problem with him? My hat goes off to him.

Nothing is wrong with that at all. I've met many self made millionaire's myself, who have always been very generous to me as well as to society in general.
However, the question is about access to resources and why one must have a lot of money in order to buy good health care and education. Doesn't America pride itself on Horatio Alger stories. These days one doesn't just need to work hard, they also need a sound education.

Nothing at all. I know a lot of 8 and 9 figure income earners. They are just normal people, like everyone else. Granted we have more material possessions then your typical American. But that's what is great about America. If you want to be rich, hard work and dedication will take you there.

Noting as long as you don't think it makes you a better person than someone who lives in the gutter.
Not everyone who is rich worked for it (Paris Hilton sure as hell did not) anymore than everyone who is poor is lazy (poverty can be the result of ill health, death of parents/spouse, business ideas not working out and companies going bust or just basic bad luck.)
We don't all have the talent to make billions. Or the connections/opportunities. Those that do are very lucky. Many of us are just average Freds and Mildreds who have to muddle along as best we can with what God gave us. Its wrong to consider those who are rich as being somehow better than those who aren't.
I'm poor as a church mouse but I have my baby son. I know rich women who've spent their lives working on their careers and made a fortune, only to find they've missed the boat when it comes to having children and will never know what it is like to hold their own newborn baby in their arms. I consider myself infinitely richer than them despite all their material wealth. It counts for nothing when you're dying alone with no family around you.

Nothing is wrong with being prosperous as long as you make your money legitimately and aren't screwing your employees by forcing them to work in sweatshop conditions. I think that's what most people's "beef" is. Jealousy or envy is for losers and communists.
