Hussein is kind of a chump compared to these guys, our history books better not place him on such a prestigious pedestal. hell if it were not for the USA's helpful hand he would not have been able to do half as much as he actually did.

EFP attacks are up and civilian casualties are up. Isn't this more proof that the hard work is being done, the insurgency is heating up and the fighting is getting tougher, just like our President Bush said? Seems like the surge is working?

For those that missed the debate and wish to see it....

I am a Republican, yet think it my duty to watch both parties debates and get to know the candidates on both sides. While I am going to vote Republican I would have to give Kucinich and Biden the win on this particular debate (with Richardson doing poorest).

What say you?

Something tells me that Musharraf isnt playing all his cards and is hiding something important. The more pressure the US puts on him to work with us the more he squirms and eels out of it. Whats your take on it? Is he hiding Bin Laden?

...just because she's a woman? Believe it or not, I was told by a female friend who knows nothing about politics, economics, or government that she would actually vote for Hillary "just because she's a woman" As unbelievable as it sounds, I wonder how common this type of thinking is in this country.

ok boys I need your help on this:

What are the advantages of a unicameral legislature like the one in Nebraska?

What have actually been the issues (I need real names) that have been proposed by third or minor parties that have been taken into consideration by the federal government?

What have been the positive effects, if any, of the interests groups for the democracy in the United States?

OK, people have different opinions on the 2nd amendment, ranging from everyone should own any gun they want to, to every gun should be banned. But of course, most people sit in the middle.

Now, I believe people should have the right to own guns (handguns as well, although I will never own one), but I still have to respect the amount of gun violence in this country.

So how about this. We let people have any guns they want (except those that are already illegal, such as fully-automatic guns), and as many as they want. In other words, zero gun control.

We only add one stipulation. If you EVER get caught committing ANY crime while using a gun (for instance, robbing a bank with a handgun), you go to jail for life. Period.

And that's it. Sure, gun crime may rise for a year or so, but it will be practically non-existent after that. Crime will still exist, but it will be more like Europe where most crimes are just committed with no guns, resulting in less innocent fatalities.
AND, homeowners can still carry a weapon to protect their homes.

Worried that the prison costs would be too high? Nope. We just let this guy be in charge of the prisons:

And if you think not letting inmates watch cable TV, smoke, look at porn or lift weights is cruel punishment, well, you need to remember they are CRIMINALS!

Will it work?

That we are asked to vote for Candidates who after careful evaluation are just as bad if not worse than the incumbent..... Hillary and Guilliani

What happened to the days when we looked for a visionary to lead the country and enthuse the people.... Instead we are given puppets with a prescribed script.

I have to say Fox News. It's not really news, but mostly one right-wing "news analyses" show after another: Sean Hannity, Bill Oreilly, John Gibson, Brit Hume, Neil Cavuto, etc, etc.

If they are so fair and balanced why can they not give a liberal his own show?

I see the other cable news and radio stations do the same thing. The vast majority of "news analyses" shows are headed by right-wing pundits: Joe Scarborough, Lou Dobbs, Glenn Beck, Tucker Carlson, Micheal Savage, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and countless others on radio.

I lived in my apartment since October of 1998 and recently moved out at the end of July. I signed a lease once; during the time that I lived there I've painted and repaired plumbing issues etc. Also, I've had a few minor damages...I burned a hole in the laminate countertop w/ a candle, broke a ceiling, and there were a few discolorations on the carpet and I've accepted that I won't get my $500 deposit together but I think he wants me to pay extra. Do you think I'm obligated to pay more? During the time I lived there not once was I late on the rent, I cut the grass, cleaned the porch, and did all kinds of other stuff and was never compensated. Is that fair for him to request more money from me.

-Whatever his beliefs, Sadam portrayed himself as an Islamic fundamentalist to gain support of Arab street. He compared himself to Saladin, called for the return of Israel to Muslim lands, financed Yassar Arafat's intifada, and worked with fundamentalist opponents of the Saudis to undermine support for Gulf War I.

-Sadam never conceded defeat after the first Gulf War,and continued to threaten the US with attacks. Evidence points to Iraqi involvement in 1992 attempted assasination of Bush 1, 1993 WTC bombing, foiled 1993 Un bombing, 1995 Riyadh embasy bombing, 1996 Khobar bombing, 1995 plot to blow up airliners.

-1998-Sadam kicks weapons inspectors out of Iraq, threatens retaliation. Two days later, US embassies are bombed. Al Qaeda claims it is retaliation for US sanctions on Iraq.

-After embassy attacks, press reports that White House considered attacks on Sudan, Afghanistan, and one other(IRAQ). Related documents in national archives are later destroyed by Sandy Berger.

I have been a longtime Barack Obama supporter but recently have been leaning towards Ron Paul.

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

I work as an event planner and I was planning the 16th birthday party of a client. It was a very expensive party and I would have gotten a big check for it. I took on the job since the money would have been enough to pay for my wedding and then some. Anyway, I did a lot of work for this party: I chartered the plane, got the outfits, sent off for the custom made invitations, and went back and forth to the city the party was supposed to take place at. it was the hardest I had to work for any client and since I work on my own I had to turn away some potintenal clients just so I work on it. But since I couldn't get the venue that the girl wanted for the party, they fired me! And now I won't get my check! I was so hurt and disappointed and I think I should get something for all the hard work I did! We didn't have a written contract but I was told I would be paid, so can I sue them and get my money or not?

A hypothesis is an assumed explanation for a phenomena that still needs to be proven with observations and experimentation.

A theory is a rational natural explanation of phenomena that has often already been backed up with years and years of observations, modeling, and experimentation. For example, evolution and the big bang are well established scientific theories that are well accepted by the scientific community. It could very well be these explanations are wrong, but they are however the best explanations for the origin of man and universe to date.

Sometimes I see some people also get confused with the words "law" and "theory". They think a law supercedes a theory when in fact they are the same thing. Newton's "laws" of motion and gravity are actually also just explanations. In fact, Einstein's "theory" of relativity can explain motion under more conditions then Newton's "laws" of motion can. Newton's laws of motion for example cannot predict the motion of Mercury.
