From mediamatters.org:

What Clyburn said... is that if Gen. David Petraeus were to report in September that the military effort in Iraq "is working very, very well at this point; we would be foolish to back away from it," it would cause "those 47 Blue Dogs ... to want to stay the course, and if the Republicans were to remain united, as they have been, then it would be a problem for us."

The Cons (including Mitt Romney) are idiotically taking the quote out of context, saying that Clyburn was lamenting that success in Iraq would be a blow to the Demos politically. That is clearly false. However, what did Jim Clyburn's statement really say about his own feelings about Iraq? On the one hand, he thinks that if the surge is working, we should stay. On the other hand, he is concerned that if it really is working, the Demos will not be able to get us out. This is not "rooting for defeat," as the Cons have charged, but he is fence-straddling.

What does Clyburn really want?

"We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation, and the cutting of all social services to rid the Galilee of its Arab population." - David Ben-Gurion, May 1948, to the General Staff. From Ben-Gurion, A Biography, by Michael Ben-Zohar, Delacorte, New

"[The Palestinians] are beasts walking on two legs."-Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, speech to the Knesset, quoted in Amnon Kapeliouk, "Begin and the 'Beasts,"' New Statesman, June 25, 1982.

"Our race is the master race. We are divine gods on this planet. We are as different from the inferior races as they are from insects. In fact, compared to our race, other races are beasts and animals, cattle at best. Other races are considered as human excrement. Our destiny is to rule over the inferior races. Our earthly kingdom will be ruled by our leader with a rod of iron. The masses will lick our feet, and serve us as our slaves."

My father is suing us for Slander, he has 5 people in this suit already. I have not been named yet but I will be in the next week or so because I am siding with everyone else and I will defend them. The so call Slander is because we are defaming his name by saying he molested me which he infact did when I was 11 twice. A police report was filed but he was charged with Lude and Lucivious behavior and I saw a psychologist. The charges were later dropped due to lack of evidence (this happened in 1999). I have the police report and I can track the psychologist down if I must. I know the best defense to Slander is the Truth and he did infact molest me and I have never had a relationship with him because of it. Ever since this has happened when I was 11 he has DENIED it. My father is a crooked man and is studying law (everyone calls him a professional student) and he is going pro-se in this ridiculous suit. All I can see is that this is my word against his...I mean I do have the police...

Have you had a firsthand experience where you witnessed the school system "dumbing down" because of illegal immigrants or people who appeared to have lacked in effort at assimilating? If so, what did you witness/experience? My Experience: I took a college course on Mexican History my senior year. The majority of students excluding myself and two others were Hispanic/Latino. The course was highly interactive and on a daily basis we had to read out loud and review other students papers. My conservative estimate is that 75% of the Hispanic/Latino population in my class had the reading and writing skills of a typical 7th or 8th grader. It was certainly not college-grade material. It made me wonder how these people were even in college. They clearly received some form of preferential treatment in my opinion.

The Marxists are right in the sense that ultimately there will be one producer or one small handful of producers of X but that X becomes ever narrower - - - - ultimately Coke or Pepsi will win or at least the two combined will maintain their extremely high market share - - - - in the market for COLA. NOT in the market for soft drinks, for cold drinks, for drinks.

Nobody NEEDS Cola. There are several SUBSTITUTES for Cola. Cola must compete with those substitutes for your beverage dollar. All of that means that Coke and Pepsi can't just charge "whatever they want" for their products.

We hear reports of people in the USA being awarded insane sums of money in damages for what seem trivial mistakes. If one percent of these are true it is a serious matter. You cannot blame greedy lawyers. They are out for what they can get. I blame the courts and juries for abetting a system which seems to be a legal way of stealing someone's money. Unfortunately, this practice seems to be gaining ground in Britain. Don't play the lottery - sue someone!

Why not just run as an Independent spelling out what you truly are and stand for? Wouldn't you have a better chance that way because you know the Republicans are not going to nominate a Libertarian? So what's the point?

Many courts across the land are making men continue to pay child support even after DNA tests have excluded them as the father. Why is the court supporting the lying mother? They are sending a message to SOME women that if they lie long enough, the "father" (usually ex-husband) will get stuck with the bill. Aside from possible medical reasons why the biological father may need to be identified or additional sibblings and extended family, the court has assumed that he does not want to know his child. The court assumes that these women are sluts and have no idea where the man is they slept with. They put no responsibility on the woman at all. What about the other man's rights? What about the rights of his biological children? That money probably would put them through college. The court has made them all victims. This is not blind justice. This is irresponsible. It is never too late for the truth. The court cannot protect one person's rights while violating someone else's.

I was going to grab a link, but the story has been taken down or moved. But Musharraf has withdrawn from a committee of Pakistani and Afghan leaders to work towards peace. His spokesman said there was too much meddling coming from Washington about violating Pakistan's sovereignty. Obama has been shooting off his mouth without thinking again (or maybe he doesn't do thinking!). A couple days ago, he said he would attack Pakistan to try to kill Al Qaeda leaders.
Musharraf has been a good ally in the war against terrorism, but old "Make it up as you go" Obama has made the President's job a little harder. I guess that is ok, if you operate on the premise that the harder Bush's job is, then the more likely Democrats will gain advantage.
Can anyone deny that Liberal B.S. is killing US Servicemen? Pretty much the same way as they did during Vietnam?

http://news.aol.com/newsbloggers/2007/08/08/elizabeth-edwards-regret-we-cant-make-john-black/?ncid=NWS00010000000001

I was checking my AOL email and I logged out and came upon this article. The headline grabbed my attention: 'Elizabeth Edwards' Regret: 'We Can't Make John Black'

I clicked on the link immediately and read it because it was presented on AOL as if it was a 'controversial (i.e. racist) remark, I had to see it for myself. She was NOT being a racist. She wasn't even being sexist. She was just stating her thoughts.

I won't go as far as to say that Obama is only going after the black vote or Hillary is only going after the women's vote like Liz is implying, but every comment of this sort isn't made out of malice or racism. So why do the media constantly misconstrue them as such?

What do you think?

I am not looking for antiquated liberal banter. It seems as if liberals today not the mainstream Democratic Party but true card carrying left wing liberals have a deep seated hatred for this man. Why? Please enlighten me and if you can please do so with out using the term "con", right wing conservative would be fine. Hate is a deep seeded emotion. So tell me why?

I asked a similar question earlier and most of the people who answered must not have heard this story. (I guess it wasn't reported on The Daily Show or CNN aka Clinton News Network).

A student at Pace University in New York was arrested for commiting a hate crime because he put a Koran in a toilet. Isn't that freedom of speech? Why is a religious book protected while it is perfectly legal to burn the American flag?
