Here in Fresno, California, the majority of immigrants come from 2 places. 1 group, probably the largest, comes from Mexico and points South. The other large population of immigrants came from places like Laos, Niet Nam etc and were part of the influx of South East Asian immigrants in the late 1970's known collectively as "Boat People". Regardless of where they landed, a great many made their way to the central part of this state.

I think you mean Somali as in from Somalia. I would also bet that the majority of the Somali population of Bristol are refugees or asylum seekers awaiting refugee status; therefore I think it is unfair to just use the general term 'immigrant' here.

In Edinburgh, poles, slavs and indian's/pakistani's. Polish shops are everywhere selling Polish bread, biscuits and meat now. Don't know whats wrong with our Kingsmill but there ye go eh - can't say we told ye so, but then again anyone saying they were against multi-culturalism was classed as a racist 5 years ago.

I'm in Burnley, Lancashire, and most definately most are from Pakistan. They have brought a cheap taxi service, late-night opening corner shops and good value curry restaurants with them. No complaints really. They don't wander the streets after closing time shouting abuse at passers by or get drunk in public places. (Not yet anyway).
