Are you familiar with The Code of Hammurabi, or the Draconian Laws?

Do you know how law and order was kept in The South, or the Wild West?

If we are in a war on terrorism, are we moving toward the rule of martial law for all in the U.S. and the U.K.?

I am pretty sure this is flat out racism, I can't find any legitimate reasons why Mexicans are unfairly targeted. Study after study shows that even though they come here illegally, they contribute positively to our economy and are a necessary part of our work force.....Even Arizona State Universities own study concluded that immigrant workers, both legal and illegal, overall we're a necessary part of our economy.....

All of our bills are in my name (and therefore reflect on MY credit) and I'm considering breaking my lease, but I'm afraid she's going to do something crazy like refuse to pay her half of the bills and stick me with the whole thing. Is there anything that can be done (legally) to either prevent this from happening or to resolve it once/if it happens? Am I just completely out of luck if she screws me over?

I really dont know why anyone would want to legalize hardcore drugs.... so they can become mainstream in todays youth, ruin young lives, keep certain communities of people in the dumps, raise violence caused by delusional high people, raise the amount of car crashes by delusional high people ? What is to be gained ... money perhaps? Who supports this anyway? Libs or Cons?

I have just sent in an application to become a US citizen. I may have to leave the country for a while due to unforeseen circumstances in my home country, I will probably change my address to a friends address where he can get any paperwork the INS may send regarding my status. Are there any repercussions for doing this? Is it ok to do this or not. Please help. Thanks.

He's the CEO for Murrary Energy Inc. (Utah mine collapse) and instead comforting the families and updating what is going on, he's just defending coal mining and saying it's not his fault... God bless the miners, they deserve better.

We just moved back to the city about 8 months ago so this was our first time voting at our precint.
First of all it was in a tiny club house about 20' x 30'. The line was pushed all the way to the entrance door.
Hubby and I got into the long line. I stood there just a second when I realized it was for the democratic primary. I stepped out of line to get into the Republican one. There was no one in that line so I was glad that I could get out easily.
The lady searching for my name was about 80 yrs old and could not hear me clearly. I had to repeat my name to her about 4 times. Finally an elderly man came over to help her and he couldn't hear either and kept saying my last name is Bryant. I corrected him about 5 times until he finally got it. I then had to help them look through the books to find my name. We did, thanks goodness.
They then gave me a card that read Republican and sent me to the line to go to a voting booth.

Cont.
(I will have to post more datails)

Private campaign finance, quid pro quo, is ruining our political system. Our politicians are bought and paid for. Its why they don't care about polls, we have for-profit health care, a military industrial complex, environmental problems, and the list is endless. They are answering to the biggest moneyed corporations and industries rather than the voters.

Do you trust politicians who advocate full public campaign financing to end the legal bribe system when they are taking money from these lobbyists in order to get elected?

I understand that there is a big belief that people should be responsible for themselves and that its unfair for anyone to have to pay to help others out...but in a free capitalistic society where there will always be the have's and the have not's (which is all fair), how can anyone suggest that its not worth at least a small portion of everyone's fortune to help the least fortunate people?

Please don't just lump less fortunate into just being lazy people who would rather sit on the couch than work, as this is not an accurate description of all the less forutnate....no more than a greedy fat cat trying to exploit everyone possible describes anyone successful.

but think it's ok for the US to use air support and do not call them cowards? I have nothing but the highest regard for our troops (I served in the Army), I know they did not ask to be sent to that hellhole, but there is some hypocrisy to this reasoning. In warfare, you use what's at your disposal. I agree that the insurgents are cowards for targeting civilians, but that's another story.

I'm under the impression that once my A-school is almost complete I can fill out a "dream sheet" of possible destinations for the naval base or Aircraft carrier I'll be sent to...But the list I have to choose from is only bases where my job is needed..I know AO's are in Iraq and Kuwait right now, if neither of those are on the list can I request to go there?

My friend is 32, married, mother of two. She says she's a Republican and always votes for Republicans.

However, she relies on many Democrat-backed social programs, and complains that there aren't better schools, more state-funded programs, city parks, etc.

What can I say to help her realize that voting Republican is against everything she wants?

I live outside of Philadelphia where there's been a lot of killing with guns lately (the number in 2007 so far is near 260). I think that the people who are killing others are mainly uneducated people who got caught up with crime. I am not saying that gun control is the answer, because I really don't think that the people with the guns near me have them registered to themselves or have gotten them legally anyway. However, no one seems to have a reasonable solution of what to do. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I am pro life by the way... People support abortions because they claim that the ... embryo isnt a living human being. Well, if its not living.. then what is it? Dormant? Then what happens when there is a misscarraige? Surely it didnt DIE because for it to die it had to be living in the first place. So what happened? It just stopped working, is that it? I really dont understand this frame of mind at all. Pro Choice people please explain....

Will legislation be determined by who sends Fred the most money? Maybe I could get him to legalize pot if I send him $75,000..That's all it took for him to defend abortion rights, even though he claims he has always been opposed to abortion.
