70% of Americans polled said they want their president to have a faith in God - to answer to a "higher authority". Does this matter to you? Would you be willing to pull the lever for a candidate who has no religious faith?

When I looked at the numbers last month, the Gallup Poll showed President Bush's job approval was at 32 percent, and Congress was at 24 percent. Could things get any worse? Of course they can. Never underestimate the power of the Democratic Party to self-destruct. The first job approval numbers for July are in and the Reuters/Zogby Poll shows Bush at 34 percent, Congress at 14 percent. Under Democratic leadership, Congress has gone from the brink of the abyss and leaped. Whee!

University of Colorado regents will decide whether to fire professor Ward Churchill after a special meeting and hearing Tuesday.

The firebrand professor first sparked controversy in 2005 with his essay on Sept. 11, 2001, that compared some victims of the terrorist attacks to a notorious Nazi.

A CU investigative committee last year concluded that Churchill invented facts, plagiarized entire works and misrepresented the authorship of articles.

"I expect to be fired," Churchill said in an e-mail to the Camera on Thursday

"I think it's been clear for a long time that Ward Churchill is a buffoon and a charlatan without any scholarly credibility," Mitchell said. "I'm confident the regents will raise the level of scholarship at CU by sending him packing."

1) Freeze the growth rate of non-entitlement spending to 2.5%, which is the present rate of CPI.

2) Either pass my tax proposal or leave tax rates exactly where they are today, on a permanent basis.

Note - tax revenue is presently increasing at a double digit clip, if we could freeze spending at the present rate of inflation we'd have a surplus within 18 months at the latest and it would grow from there.

The two main "what ifs" are inflation and interest rates - what if either of them grows - - but they're a lot less likely to if we can cap spending.

Why can a Conservative cry, yet still support our troops, and also do their best to help them to laugh?
Why do Liberals talk dirt about our country, and the soldier's who are giving them that right?

Also, to all service men, and women? Please tell me if this Marine's words in this song, are in your heart, as well? I appreciate your feelings, and thank you.

Song by Mike Corrado, a Marine, who fought in Iraq.

Bill Clinton:

expanded free trade

deregulated the financial services sector

continued Reagan's deregulation of other sectors

created huge corporate tax loopholes

signed welfare reform

moved the pegs back a notch re Reagan's personal income tax cuts, which I didn't support, but he didn't exactly undo them

All 'n all, Bill Clinton's economic record was probably more free market oriented than that of Bush '41.

The big picture is that any differences among Reagan and everyone since pale by comparison to the differences between this bunch and the presidents from FDR through Carter. And the results really can't be argued-with.

What I can't understand is why only one Democrat candidate today wants to take up that mantle, and how it isn't Bill Clinton's wife doing it, it's his Energy Secretary.

No one is born "illegal". Surely it is the right of man to travel the world and all that's in it. Borders, passports and immigration laws are all man-made. How dare a government class a person as illegal. It's a strategy by rich countries to keep the poor down and confined.

But he has little chance of winning the nomination because the party machinery favors Hillary and the moonbats favor Obama.

What is to stop Bush from invading Iran, and declaring a national emergency? With Bush using the PATRIOT Act combined with Bush's 'signing statements', How can we be sure that national elections will NOT be suspended? We know Bush does not support the Constitution or the rule of law. We no longer have habeas corpus protection.
At this time Bush IS acting as a dictator. Perhaps I am a bit paranoid, but still it seems the US may be headed in this direction.

< Iran Arrests 14 Squirrels For Spying
Rick Moran

Via Memorandum, Ynet has the exciting espionage story of some highly trained, stealthy rodents who were caught entering Iranian territory. Or maybe they were left wing squirrels and only wanted to surrender:

Iranian intelligence operatives recently detained over a dozen squirrels found within the nation's borders, claiming the rodents were serving as spies for Western powers determined to undermine the Islamic Republic. "In recent weeks, intelligence operatives have arrested 14 squirrels within Iran's borders," state-sponsored news agency IRNA reported. "The squirrels were carrying spy gear of foreign agencies, and were stopped before they could act, thanks to the alertness of our intelligence services.">>

Maybe these guys could patrol our Southern Border. If they can catch 14 squirrels maybe they could catch a couple of illegal invaders. God knows they would be better than what we have now.

I did a search and saw tons of questions/answers about Michael Moore's movie Sicko. In many cases, people just attack Michael Moore himself or his previous movies. They don't analyze the facts in Sicko. Some say the movie is classified as entertainment. Who cares how it is classified by some institutions or individuals, which are most likely biased? If they have seen inaccuracies in the movie, what are these inaccuracies? Let's focus on the facts that Sicko mentions or fails to mention! Some say that in Canada, France, etc. taxpayers must pay the bill for health care, as if the movie did not consider this fact! It did and nevertheless concluded that they had a much better health care system. It is almost as if people answered the questions without having seen the movie!

This is a challenge to those who might know some inaccuracies or omissions in the movie. I want to read critics on the accuracy of the movie, but for god's sake, analyze the facts and make sure you've seen the movie.

I am all for keeping America & the world beautiful & healthy but find it a tad frustrating to listen to endless talk & lawsuits sometimes over really silly things just to try to stall this or that mainly in oil drilling but in other things too even in cars or building of buildings & yet people especially the enviromential groups endlessly complaint about high prices & limited resources be it oil or power or again cars or anything else they can paint as evil even cutting trees. Again I'm all for keeping things healthy & beautiful but there has to be some limits after all the cost of the lawsuits do get passed on to us the consumer in higher prices & less supply because it either takes forever or becomes to costly to pursue something. For example oil drilling they complaint about our dependance on foreign oil yet tie up anything oil or energy related in court as long as possible all of which does nothing for adding or solving the supply issue let alone the dependance on foreign oil.
