because hes really not black, in the oppressed sense of the word.
He has muslim descent and how can he truly relate to the problms of the balck community when one look at him and you see he was a priviledged black kid.

He can try to connect with that group, but it will be hard because the lower income group sees that.
you cant fake that.
and thats why I doubt he will win the election.

Funny as it sounds, you want to see someone that related to the black community -- then look no further than al aharpton.
Hes involved himself in all the black issues, and is actually a pretty politically sauvvy guy.
I actually like to see him debate more than I do any other black activists like Jessee Jackson.

I think Sharptons grasp over overall politics is the best of the lot of them.

lthough I wouldnt vote for either Sharpton or Obama

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. It is not that Blacks would be against Obama but that they like Clinton more. Clinton has been in the lime light more and longer, so-to-speak. Obama may have been around a long time, but mostly in the shadows like a lot of Senators and such you hear about now than then, but never really know or remember. He is close to having my vote. Specially he was one for the few smart enough to see hoe stupid this war was going to be and the quagmire it would become. Clinton either was not smart enough to see it. Or too yellow to stand up against it. As for who speaks best for the Black community? Which of the candidates are from Watts? Compton? Even Queens? ALL of the candidates can be called elitist. So trying to penalize Obama for being a Black man running but not born in the ghetto is just plain stupid. Same as not being black enough. That is stupid too. If you want you man to be Black, you sure not even getting 50% with the others. Half the pie is better than none at all. And when it comes to experiece to be President. How long you been in politics plays no difference. Look at who we have now and how bad he has f***** it up. So there goes the experience theory.

3 things. I think blacks especially women seem to be more drawn to Clinton more than obama not because he is not black enough but they feel hillary has a more agreeable stance on issues important to blacks. I think many blacks like Obama and have no problem with him being the rep for the democrats but I think many like Hillary more. Also remember Bill was extremely popular among blacks and that still holds true today.

I glad that your white and you like him, I'm black and I don't. I won't vote for someone because they are the same race or gender (in the case of Clinton).

I don't agree with his positions on the issues, it's that simple. Skin color has nothing to do white his qualificaitons the media is focusing on that issue.

Nobody is "against" Senator Obama.... Many feel he doesn't have enough experience yet to be president.

Frankly, I think he should be Hillary's running mate and take the second chair for 8 years....He then will be able to slide into the White House more easily.

Clinton and Obama would be a heluva good ticket.

No, maximum persons do no longer care what race Obama is. If he's a undesirable president people will hate him and if he's sweet people in many circumstances won't *****. There are racist people yet they are in small numbers. Race regrettably continues to be a controversy in u . s . yet there are no longer adequate racists to generate extra effective than purely a sprint of terrorism. it particularly is going to likely be stopped immediately,

For the same reason women are so hard on Hillary Clinton.....
Sometimes the leaders that are most like yourself are the ones you expect the most from because in some small part they are you....
