Bush in their speeches? I'm seeing quite a few articles saying they are now trying to separate their GOP affiliation from Bush and they are even worried about Bush's war & policies blowing their chances for re-election.

"In May, Republicans were dismissing even tough questions about the escalation. Now, they're falling all over themselves to distance themselves from the president."

If the Republicans think Bush is so great & his war
is so grand...why aren't they clinging to his shirt tails
begging Bush to speak for them in their hometown rallies?

limited only in that he can't limit another's right to do the same (e.g.,, if there's one loaf of bread on the shelf and you get to the store first, you're not limiting another's right to buy bread by buying the last loaf, but you would be if you passed a law outlawing sales of bread).

How about it - - - - you live your life the way you want, I'll live my life the way I want. I might not like, or disapprove of, something in your lifestyle, you might not like, or disapprove of, something in my lifestyle, but in neither case is it any business of the person who disapproves.

And let me be clear - either you agree or disagree - not "except....." There's no "except" - - - "except" means you disagree, means you see government's role as manager, not simply referee.

I was at Dunkin Donuts and I after I paid with a $10 bill they gave my change back, and in the change there was a canadian penny. This is absolutely disgraceful ... receiving international money in AMERICA. What's wrong with this country? America is being taken over by the mexicans ... now the canadians?

American money is worth more than canadian so I didn't get back what I should have. Isn't that illegal that they gave me international currency? If not, it should be. Disgusting.

ok, my husband is involved in a huge homicide case, ( he didnt murder someone, but he was there) when this goes to trial, i am one of the witnesses, as i know what happened that night (by him telling me 5 months later) So im considered one of the MAIN, well someone told me that i CANNOT testify against him, because we are married, is this true? will everything that i have told them, be useless in his trial? I am also pending a charge ( i think the detectives were trying to scare me) i UNKNOWINGLY cleaned the apartment, where this murder occured, however it was already cleaned, i saw no blood (in the bathroom) we were told to throw away everything in the apt, my fingerprints and footprints (there was SOO much bleach being used by my husband on the floor that we tracked bleach onto the carpet and it was never changed) they are telling me that my DNA is at the crime scene, and if they wanted, they could charge me with something, my husband told them i had ABSOLUTELY no knowledge, can they?

Here's the situation in almost every nation that has universal healthcare... the people pay taxes, and they go to private physicians/doctors. Those physicians/doctors get reimbursed for their services. The tax is public, but the industry is still private....just a matter of eliminating the middle man (aka insurance).

So if you're for that, why not for private vouchers? They operate nearly in the same manner. There still is public funds and private industry reimbursing. Both systems can both be designed progressively (as they're attempting in Utah)...but it seems it's getting opposition.

And for what?....Because it mirrors the universal healthcare formats throughout most of the world? You tell me, I'm not sure why there's so much opposition when similiar people on the left support universal healthcare.

ps...I prefer tax deductible healthcare and schooling more than universal or school vouchers...FYI

I was hired and terminated within three days. I have been in the industry for 15 plus years never been in this situation. I am wondering if they can deny me a claim for unemployment. When a company denies a claim don't they have to have prove (physical not just one word against another)

Also when they terminated me (I live in MA) there was no termination letter and all they said was I was not a good fit for the job. I never had a chance to work it took 2 days to get a desk. Does anyone have any information on this ??

Most people believe that the Bush administration invaded Iraq strictly for political reasons. Going to war and killing thousands of people for political reasons would be considered by most Americans to be extremely evil. But there is another possibility. George Bush and his decision makers may have TRULY believed that Iaq was a threat, that Saddam planned 9/11, and that Iraq was planning a nuclear strike on the US with its highly advanced nuclear weapons capabilities (despite the fact that everyone else knew none of this was true). Bush could truly be a good guy acting in America's best interests. If this is the case, then the administration is not evil, just blitheringly incompetent and stupid. So which do you think it is? It has to be one or the other. Evil or incompetent?

Of course, it could be both, but we'll save that possibility for another question...

We had help from other countries, France encluded. Why shouldn't we return the favor and help other countries gain their independence? Aren't the strong obligated to help the weak? Or is that only if they don't have a commodity that would help us such as oil? If they were completely without assets would it be OK to help then?

There was a recent news story about a dog that got into a lady's purse and ate $1,000US. My question is how much of a individual actual bill would you still have to have left, so that you can go back to the bank and have them replace it no questions asked. They said that after all was said and done. She was only able to retrieve $700 of the $1,000.
I guess it would be what is the least portion viable, so that it is still considered a legal currency.

I think a lot of people out there have wanted to kill another person, but haven't because of "morals" and the law. My question is: if there was no (man-made) law against murder, would you have killed somebody, or would you still do it? You're anonymous, so just be honest. I have no doubt some will respond with religious answers ("A person goes to Hell for that" or "God prohibits it"). I've always been interested in this.
