I think a lot of people out there have wanted to kill another person, but haven't because of "morals" and the law. My question is: if there was no (man-made) law against murder, would you have killed somebody, or would you still do it? You're anonymous, so just be honest. I have no doubt some will respond with religious answers ("A person goes to Hell for that" or "God prohibits it"). I've always been interested in this.

Instead of just murder, you could also comment on rape, stealing, and other serious offenses. You don't even have to say what YOU would (or wouldn't) do; you can also just comment on what you think would happen.

EVERYONE could commit a crime under the right set of circumstances. Even murder and it doesn't have a thing to do with what you believe or have been taught or what church you go to. Why? Because if you are faced with your survival or someone else's, you will pick your own first.

I've killed before (Iraq), it's not as hard as it seems. The act of killing isn't the hard part, the self analysis that follows is what drives most people mad. But the actual act of squeezing a trigger (when you know for sure that somebody will die when you squeeze) isn't hard, so yea I suppose there's a few people I wouldn't mind offing. Nothing I'd act on now, but in your imaginary setting I probably would.
As far as rape goes, I know females who have been raped and I can honestly say that I could ever do that to someone. It seems worse than murder, because you have to live with the consequences.
As far as stealing goes, I'd get some guns and rob the hell out of the nearest bank (there's a reason the FDIC exists)

I would not rape, murder or steal for the same reason that I do not do so right now. It is wrong and harmful to others. If there were a selfish side to my statement it would be that I could not live with the guilt of doing so.
Simply put, I do not need laws or faith to tell me these things are wrong, just my common sense.
And honestly, I cannot recall ever wanting to kill someone.
That being said, I might kill someone if they had just killed or seriously harmed my younger brothers or mother, but I think the chances of me doing that in the heat of the moment would be the same regardless of laws or fear of god.

Yes, I would indeed. I would kill (or have killed) the man who raped me when I was 4 years old. He has gone on to rape several other children since that time. He goes to jail for a short time (if at all!), gets out, rapes kids all over again. Quite frankly, I would indeed kill him to spare another child that atrocity. I wouldn't feel the least bit guilty about doing it either.

People kill right now and it is against the law. They also make laws that allow them to kill. We haven't always been targeting civilians in times of war, that didn't happen until around WW2.
If you really wanna kill something join the army I'm sure you'll kill something eventually.

morals, law or religion. doesn't come into it. it is respect for mankind, on these feeling alone i could not hurt another human being. unless he hurt me and mine, especially my kids, no one hurts my kids, i myself can turn the other cheek. so the answer is yes, i could kill a person but not cos it was prohibited by law, but then in the name of religion. and if that religion damned me to hell for doing so, i would go to hell, So isn't law and religion the same thing"control"

Absolutely NOT. I think it takes a seriously disturbed person to kill, rape, or commit any other offense against the person of another human being.

No I wouldn't, but God can forgive and forget all sin. As in King David sending the husband of the wife, for whom he lusted for, into battle thinking he would be killed. God forgives all sin to those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord. Read Hebrews 10:16 & 17.

A bishop, called Cardinal Sin from my native country said the following when asked if he would be able to kill someone in defense. "Yes!... because God gave me my life and it's my duty to guard it."
I think the same way.... to defend my own life and my loved ones,... yes.
Otherwise in my day to day life, I can't even kill a fly.
I'm human not a beast. A beast kills instinctively... we as human beings have the ability to postpone and reflect... these distinguishes us from beasts.
