why do they sterotype?

Ive seen alot of cons on this site sterotype us liberals. why do they think we're all gay atheists that drink and smoke pot? Im a stright christian thats clean and sober and im also a liberal.

Stereotypes reach everyone. In my opinion they stem from generalizations about a certain group of people and that group as a whole have shownthese traits at some point. Irish are drunks, Blacks are lazy, Asians are good at math. Muslims are terrorists. We all know that these aren't true but it's an easy way to put yourself above the other.

In a perfect world, there wouldn't be stereotypes--but this isn't a perfect world. Don't lose any sleep over people who pidgeon-hole you into any group. They are too closed minded. Be proud of who you are.

Here's a new sterotype--People who use stereotypes are close-minded. I think we're all guilty to some extent.

It's actually part of Karl Rove's strategy to promote an us vs. them mentality, to cement party loyalty. They're the moral upstanding Republicans whom Jesus has saved, and the Democrats are the libertine, amoral evil doers. Therefore, doesn't matter what the Republicans stand for on political issues or whether they roll back the clock on workers rights and civil liberties: they're simply the good people and the Democrats are the bad.

I don't care what your sexuality or religion are.

It's the Libs' stubborn refusal to accept reality on economic issues that gets me. To suggest that tax cuts and deregulation over the last quarter century "hasn't worked" makes about as much sense as the notion that the Pats should have gone back to Bledsoe in '01.

Being a christian and a liberal is an oxymoron.
Unless you believe that the christian god would give his blessing to late term abortions. But I think mainly you are a hypocrite. You want to be called a christian but don't want to follow the path.
