It seems to me that there's one candidate who could unify the country and who is RIGHT on most of the issues, economic and social - - - - BILL RICHARDSON.

But he has little chance of winning the nomination because the party machinery favors Hillary and the moonbats favor Obama.

OK I don't know if trout is being sarcastic or not, I know there's not much substance in the body of the question about what I consider "right" but I post here a lot, most people know what that means - - - it means the gays should be allowed to go to P-town and give each other hummers, and they should be allowed to drive Hummers to get there, and all our income taxes should be cut even further.

I could live with a President Richardson even though he is a democrat.

Nice way to negate the power of your argument, Skippy. For what it's worth, I am a Democrat, who was a Republican for over 20 years -- when being a conservative didn't mean anything "faith-based" or hypocritical.

I am unfamiliar with Bill Richardson, and I'll look into his record. But, to answer your observation about "party machinery" and "moonbats," I am neither, and the best way to get others to see your point of view is *not* to insult them.

Yes, only the far left and right vote in primaries. Just look at CT where a anti war lefty beat joe leiberman and then leiberman trounced him in the general election. To me just make the primaries open where each person gets one vote and can vote for any canidate in any party, then the top two regardless of party partake in a run off.

Primaries are nothing more than private polls of group among that group's members to see who the group should sponsor.

They have no more effect than the NRA or the Sierra Club polling their membership before sponsoring someone.

How the two dominant parties have managed to get taxpayer funding for their private primary polls is irrational.

Primaries should be opened to whomever wants to vote. Right now we have closed primaries where you can only vote along party lines. That's not fair.

It is true that Bill Richardson is the most moderate Democrat out there.

P.S. The Yankee Commentary may endorse him.

No. Why do democrats always want to change the rules when they can't win at the game?
