Because of the relationship that we have with the Saudis. Do some studying about that and you'll get a better understanding of the situation. The Saudis are actually our allies, even though many of the terrorists (Bin Laden followers), evolve from there.

The politics of hate was revived by Osama bin Laden. The man is whacked out in the head. His own country threw him out. After Russia left Afghanistan, he went looking for another fight. He hates the US because he is nuts. Al Qaeda has been attacking the US and our interests since about 1990.

You have an odd definition of friends.

Bin Laden was a dime a dozen mujahadeen in Afghanistan..he was not even a major player there....we gave some support to the muj in general, while they were fighting the commies....

Saddam, same thing but change Afghanistan to Iraq and commies to Iran.

Neither was ever friends

The premise of your question is false. "The Planes Operation" executed on 09/11/2001 by Islamists had been in its' planning stages since the mid 1990's, when Mr. Peepee was President. So apparently, President Bush was the lucky recipient of the hatred for America which was generated by the previous administration. .....using your own implicit illogic.

Hussein ruthlessly opposed all (other) terrorist groups, and was Baathist -- he opposed Al Qaeda, which is why Al Qaeda was not present in Iraq until over a year after Saddam was deposed.

Al Qaeda attacked the US because they see us an enemy to their plans to spread their brand of religious fanaticism across the whole Middle East. Just as they saw Iraq (Saddam) and Iran and Israel and England as enemies of their plans.

Not true. Hussein and ibn laden were never friends to US. most of the time Saddam and his party didn't have even an embassy. they just had common enemy for a short time, Iran. but US supported Iran in Regan's time, Iran-contra's gate. also usama had common enemy with US, the soviets in Afghanistan. USA declared war on Saddam in 1991. usama declared war on US in 1997?/ as for why, because the Americans killed many innocent people in Iraq, and supported killing civilians by Zionists.

I don't understand either since the U.S. created al-Qaeda.
Also, the U.S. supported Saddam Hussein until he violated an U.S. order, which was that he invaded Kuwait.
