There is no draft, but the suggestion was made by a Democrat. Actually I think there should be mandatory service for all. You enjoy the privileges of those like myself that have put their life's on the line but you are quick to condemn. Think a mandatory service would insure people not only grow up and become responsible, but have a little pride in their country.

I appreciate the fact that you answered in a very respectable way but I still must disagree. We have the freedoms we have because people where willing to put their lives on the line to insure that we have those freedoms all the way back to colonial times. Am I in favor of war? No! I abhor it but believe in my country and what it stands for. DO I believe in the war in Iraq? No! What I am trying to say is now days so many people take the rights that have been earned by the blood and sacrifice of others without concern or care about how they got those rights, by those giving there all and then some. This is in no way meant to be a disrespect to you I only ask that you highly respect those that are out there with their lives on the line insuring you have the freedom to believe, and speak as you wish.

You are an idiot.

I too am anti-war, and i beleive what the current administration is doing is criminal. They should all be put on trial. But no, there will not be a military draft. Only a hostile invasion of American soil would prompt a draft, and even then, enough people would come forward without being forced to do so.

Republicans do not mean dead Americans. You cannot judge the entire party by what a few bad people have done in it's name. Hate the Bush administration, not the republican party.

Pengy, while im certainly greatful for the rights i have in the US, i recongnize myself as a human being before an American. I will not pick up a gun under any circumstance against my brothers, be they in this country for the next. If the military is your thing, more power to ya, but manditory service defeats the defineing element of this country, freedom. Leave fighting to fighters.

Democrats want the draft instated so that the families of Republican politicians are sent to the war front as well. What they fail to realize is that the people who are making a good living, but support the war, yet don't want their lives interrupted are also going to be punished.

Another awesome tactic from the Liberals.

1. There is no draft.
2. It would be career suicide for any politician that really pushed for it.

It does not say anything even close to what you are talking about:

It is just about a report requested by Rep. John Murtha, D-Penn

In fact it seems to say the opposite
