I have heard that the government has faced huge losses due to Prasar Bharati and hence is planning to levy tax on the public by charging annual fee of Rs 400 for anyone who has color tv and Rs 200 for anyone having B/W TV. What do you all think about this? Is it really worth it? Is Govt right in doing this? They are also going to introduce tax for private channels. Please comment!

Considering the constant modern day terrorist threats and attacks should the Government be issuing provocative Knighthoods to anyone who caused so much hatred around the world, do we need to remember that book?

Even if he deserved an Honour Is one man worth a knighthood when many innocent people could now suffer in a terrorist counter attack?

It does not make sense to me, no thought seems to have been given to the consequences of giving a Knighthood to him in particular.

With the drop in retail and again home sales this quarter it is becoming increasingly obvious that the middle class in this country has not shared in the “wealth”. The rise in gas prices and general cost of living has steadily been on the rise while pay has generally stayed the same.

***If you were president in 08 what would you do to fix this problem? Heres one limitation, you can’t institute any social programs.

Please, only individuals that have at least taken an economics class (even that isn’t much these days) in college, answer. I don’t want any political talking points, only real solutions.

I’m a strong fiscal conservative so that everyone understands who this is coming from. If you wouldn't mind please put your political leaning as I have so this can be a true discussion.

...lIkE bOiNg BoNkErS bAnAnAs, gOnErS OvEr tHe eDgErS??? Good God, the more I read posts from my fellow Americans the more my mind goes back to a sociology professor I once had back in 89'. During a class I had questioned his teaching about repetitious/cyclic behavior in ALL societies through out recorded history. His teaching of "mandatory" but "voluntary" regeneration of the past sociological events in a given society disrupted the entire class during the following discussions. An example of this happened to me right here on yahoo answers. I had an email contact with a gal that was a disheartened democrat. When I turned her on to Ron Paul, she admitted that Ron Paul was what she was looking for in a president, BUT, she was afraid to vote for him because she did not want to vote for a republican!!! I told her Ron is Libertarian standing on the repub ticket, but she said she won't vote off the demo ticket! Folks, is this the "my team" mentality or what? What's your take on this?

So, I was in the back parking lot of a drug store the other night doing an exchange(I'm not going to say what it was, but it could be bottles of ozarka water, so please, none of your lectures) with a friend, from my trunk to his. Then we talked for a couple min. and we left. Well, just as we are about to pull out of the parking lot my radar detector blows up and see a cop come up behind me. Well, my friend turns left and I turn right and this cop is following me. Well, I go a block or two, do a u-turn and the cop does the same. So I get in the far right lane and turn right on the red light and the cop just stays there chillin at the red light. So, I am wondering why the cop was following me trying to find a reason to pull me over and is there anything he could have pulled me over for? He was obviously following me because all the twists and turns I did he did too.

Good or bad?
Why and how?
Stuff like that

Don't bother posting imature stuff because
if you do, you must not know how to express yourself correctly.
But yeh what do you guys think about illegal imagration

My Opinion;
BY ALL MEANS I THINK ITS FINE, as long as they have a working permit then you know what the hell. Understand that life in El Salvador,Mexico,Guatemala,Costa Rica,Puerto Rico, ect ect is hard. People don't live the way we do here. And theres hardly any jobs. If they want to come here for a better life for their family why try to stop them? Makes no sense.
I think that America is what it is today beacause of us "aliens". We do jobs you don't see others doing. Please note that i am not trying to offend anyone in anyway. Just stating what i feel.....

As an addition to two of my other questions that are currently predominating my spare time,if the power company has problems with the people they are contracting power from on the high side supply transformer and are changing fuses (to which they admit when my father called), switching the power on and off for the entire region, and a person -my father- witnesses the result (the tower jumping, crackling and sparking) and then calls to inquire and it is verified that they are doing maintenance at the substation, can the power company be held liable for damages to the computer (motherboard, processor, power supply, hard drive and supplies used to recover data)? The power co.'s liability department/HR person wrote a letter stating that this had occurred, but that they are not responsible for the "act of god" caveat or other variations (pretty much anything). I'm maintaining that I think it was their maintenance not some unforeseen or unpredictable acts.

I said no, but he kept insisting that he was going to be on MTV and BET next month and stuff. He looked like a rapper so i just paid him 10 bucks b/c he was annoying me. When i went home, i realized that the CD was blank and i was a victim of this idiot's fraud. the ten bucks is not really a big deal for me, but i dont want this moron to continue to defraud people. About 20 years ago, the Soviet Union and the rest of the Communist countries went bankrupt. Their people lived in universal perpetual poverty for 70-some years and finally tossed their Socialist government from power. The Chinese and Vietnamese are abandoning Communism. Cuba and North Korea would abandon it if we would trade with them.

Fascism (also known as National Socialism; it is a Corporatist system in which the government benefits favored corporations and wages aggressive wars) was supposed to have been discredited back in the 40s, but has recently seen a revival.

Even 3rd Way Socialism is strongly discredited and the Social inSecurity ponzi scheme is on the verge of collapse. The minimum wage is thoroughly debunked. Price controls are exposed as causing shortages. There is even strong evidence against Central Banking (which even members of the Council of Foreign Relations realize).

Why does Anti-Capitalism persist, even though it is intellectually bankrupt?
