I'm 16 years old and am not getting along with my parents. I was just wondering at what age i will be allowed to legally leave home and move to a residence of my own. I live in Pulaski County Virginia.

Ok it's not 18. My mom is a cop in Northern Virginia so I know some of the laws. You can be emancipated. You have to be able to show that you can afford to live on your own and all. You won't be able to have any parental help on living and insurance. Basically it's hard to do at 16 still in school in all. Personally, if i were you, i'd stay home till your 18, it's a free home and food. It's hard living on your own.

18. Your parents are responsible for you til you turn 18.
