im a grunt in the USMC and ive been deployed three times and i tell you the best socks you can send are either white or half black (top) and half white (bottom) socks they are so much better for your feet than colored socks and dont ask me why but i just know it from experience

Under Armour was great socks that help keep the feet dry. I would recommend those.

The best I socks I have have a wool foot and a cotton calf.

I love the socks used by alpinists.
I never wear such socks in desert altough.

Soft, cushioned cotton socks in subdued colors, (tan, light brown, etc.)
