Do you believe as I do that politics and politicans are censoring science to fit their agendas and present conditions are the worst in agroup of bad administrations. Making health statics and theselves look good at the cost of our health and science.

It is about time someone in the government said it.

It has been known pretty much for a long time. Basically, when the Bush Administration started saying that there was no such thing as global warming it was made clear as day; his earlier decisions on stem cell research pretty much spelled it out as well. I don't want to be mean and say that if you were informed then you would know this is true, but however I have to say that. Anyone who has kept up with the science fields knows that politics has too much to do with science research.

Remember that the entire space race was really a method of fighting the cold war and it was 90% politically inspired. This isn't old news to most of us, it is just the first time that someone so public has said the politics has so much influence on scientific research and the official government opinion. You will notice how the report continued to say that past Surgeon Generals agreed with the accusation, but no one bothered to ask the CURRENT Surgeon General because they know that their answer would be the political one.

I would have to guess you are motivated to ask this question from Richard Carmona's recent comments. I believe this surgeon general was censored and he is brave to make a statement explaining this. I think an administration who ran on strong Christian values is going to have a hard time with stem cell research. Religion and science have always been strange bedfellows. If it wasn't for science the world would still be flat and the sun would revolve around the earth. The bottom line is if the president appoints the surgeon general he is going to reflect the veiws of the president.

I saw that on CNN as well. Doesn't it make you wonder what else we have been lied to about? I think the methods for figuring the economic indicators are also juggling reality. There is no way inflation is down. He has also messed up our judicial system to be politically biased. He was sworn to uphold our Constitution, not change the whole country with his own agenda.

When I was a small kid I remember in grade school a big thing about eating a balanced meal of the 4 basic food groups. turns out they didnt want to offend or alienate one of the industries so to make them all happy... yea a little of each one.
Of course meats, dairy, grain and fruits/veggies all equally isnt the best balance and they knew it.
So yea I will agree it happens.

the bush-leaguers are re-inventing the term 'political science'...they even went off on their surgeon general for wanting to show up to support the special olympics, because they didn't want him helping out any cause that had a connection to the kennedy family!
