For many people, the biggest draw to the democrat party is the promise of free hand outs. If democrats have a huge base of people due to their worthless social programs, what is their incentive to bring people out of poverty? If a party is "for the poor" how can they help you become rich? Do their policies ever help poor people become wealthy, or just give them enough hand outs to keep them alive until the next election?

I'm 26, so I don't need their lame social security plans. I'm white, so race bating won't work. I'm a guy, so they can't promise me the opportunity to legally murder my first born, and I'm straight, so I don't care about the right to marry another man. My main concerns are keeping the economy going as it is now, keeping illegals out, and keeping my family from being beheaded or blown up by psycho terrorists. Am I wrong here, or is there really a place in the democrat party for an educated, independent person that doesn't want hand outs and isn't easily wooed by the promise of social programs aimed at the poor, ie, not me? Strangely, the democrats don't seem to fit my needs.

They should, productive people are the lifeblood of the socialist ideal. The money to fund government "investments" sure as hell isn't going to come from deadwood like the G-8 protesting vandals.

Throughout my career in the military, I have ran into many spouses who feel this way. I have spouses who tried to give me orders and tell me that they know more about the military than I do, even though I happen to outrank their husbands. I have seen military spouses demand salutes from servicemembers, attempt to give orders to the other spouses and servicemembers. Last I checked, spouses don't warrant a rank or subjected to the UCMJ.

In my opinion it is the politicians who REFUSE to fund the Border Control and ICE agents so they can't do their job like they need to.

With all this prancing around with WMDs and practice runs the World will never have peace. Usually we have some semblance of peace after a war. Come on let's get it over with and bomb the hell out of one another. Let's see if the Yanks have the stomach to fight someone who can fight back this time like the VC. I guess not. As for their bully boy friends in the Middle East?. They need to know their place and get back to their ghettos before they start another war.

I thought liberals said that Bush stole the 2000 and 2004 elections? Did his diebold machines not work? Did his countless efforts to suppress all the brown people in America somehow fail? I don't understand how Bush and Karl Rove could pull off such amazingly cunning election frauds twice, but somehow let it slip away in 06? Also, why do liberals even bother to vote in 08 in all the elections are rigged? Obviously someone forgot to rig a few ballot boxes in 06, but that couldn't happen twice in a row, could it? That would also seem like the elections were....fair!?!?

This infatuation they have with Ron Paul is hilarious. I constantly hear liberals say "Ron Paul is the only shot the GOP has in 08" or "Ron Paul is a republican I actually respect. He sounds like someone I could vote for." Gee, big shot there. Do liberals not realize that when they "see a guy they could vote" for this means he has zero chance? When liberals think he is well-informed and pro-American, doesn't that make them wonder what shot he has with the other normal half of America? Don't be surprised if Ron Paul doesn't even win his district, let alone the GOP nomination.

Several days ago, a Catholic Bishop in Rhode Island came out against Rudi Guiliani's presidential bid - and a few weeks earlier, a Catholic Cardinal had urged passage of the pending immigration bill. Among the Evangelicals, Jerry Falwell isn't around any more, but James Dotson is, and I saw him on CNN recently, arguing that he has a right to tell his followers how to vote. Does he? Do tax-emept religious organizations have the right to interfere in domestic politics?

I was born in Peru to Peruvian parents. I came to this great country when I was young. My father wanted us to have a better future and knew that the US would give us this.

When I turn 18 years of age, I became the first of my family to become an America Citizen. I did not appreicate this great country until I went back to Peru and saw poverty and an a corrupted government that keep them poor. I understand why so many are willing to risk their lives to come to this great country so they can give their family a better future.

What I don't understand is why are those who are illegal have a flippen attitude toward the very country that give them hope. And why do they show such loyality to a country that turn their backs on them.

And most of all, why are they not teaching their children how bless they are to live in this great country and how important it is to show their love for the US by saluted the flag, learning the language & cuture, and most of all, becoming a proud America

In a war game during the clinton administration the military determined they would need 400 to 500,000 troops for a period of 4 to 5 yrs to achieve our goals and that even then it may not work do to outside influences (Iran,Al queda)
So I suggest we either give them what they asked for or get them out of harms way.Gwb never gave them half of that. I would think the military knows what they need more than gwb does. Now then... after saying that who is it that hasnt been supporting our troops?
