I'm 26, so I don't need their lame social security plans. I'm white, so race bating won't work. I'm a guy, so they can't promise me the opportunity to legally murder my first born, and I'm straight, so I don't care about the right to marry another man. My main concerns are keeping the economy going as it is now, keeping illegals out, and keeping my family from being beheaded or blown up by psycho terrorists. Am I wrong here, or is there really a place in the democrat party for an educated, independent person that doesn't want hand outs and isn't easily wooed by the promise of social programs aimed at the poor, ie, not me? Strangely, the democrats don't seem to fit my needs.

They may have something to offer if your envy gets the better of you. If you decide for whatever reason that the American dream is not attainable, you're far more likely to want to take from others than to earn from others.

libs' magic only works with the disgruntled. stick with your dreams.

"Strangely, the democrats don't seem to fit my needs." Presto! you've answered your own question. I really believe you've closed your mind at age 26, but I'd like to point out that Democrats do not "promise" anyone "the opportunity" to murder their "first born"; the Republicans have let in between 7 and 15 million illegal immigrants, and the threat of terrorism in the US is greatly increased during these 1501 days after Mission Accomplished.

"Spy Agencies Say Iraq War Hurting U.S. Terror Fight
The war in Iraq has become a primary recruitment vehicle for violent Islamic extremists, motivating a new generation of potential terrorists around the world whose numbers may be increasing faster than the United States and its allies can reduce the threat, U.S. intelligence analysts have concluded."

You are a GREAT AMERICAN!

But to answer your question. No the Dems do not have anything to offer you considering who and what you are.
I'm sure because you feel this way you have been called a hypocritical, uncaring selfish Con. I've been called the same.
But everything you just described would go in the opposite direction if all we had were Dems running the country. After all, they only pander to the minorities, the poor and the illegals to get votes. Not because they "care" about them.

Arguing that American workers are overpaid, corporate elites have slashed pay, health benefits, and pensions. They contend that to stay competitive in the new "global economy", they need to cut labor costs. Working people are to sacrifice with a smile since it is in their best interest to enable their masters to stay in business. Throughout the 80's and 90's, massive layoffs pushed millions of middle class blue collar workers into service sector jobs which cut their incomes in half. According to Louis Uchitelle of the New York Times, 30 million Americans were laid off between 1984 and 2004.

Starting in 2000, Silicon Valley and the telecom companies began a trend of massive white collar layoffs. Other industries have followed suit. In short, "overpaid" front line American workers have become highly expendable.

Corporate America doesn't care what color your collar is. Human beings are commodities to them, and if an employee's existence is too costly, they eliminate them. Illegally firing employees who try to unionize, hiring temps to replace full-time employees (to eliminate paying those damn benefits), replacing seasoned employees with fresh college grads, and "off shoring" American jobs to exploit cheap labor in other nations exemplify the new paradigm in American business. While corporate profits soar at an annual clip of 30%, employee wages crawl upward at an average of 2%. Meanwhile, CEO's earn an average of over 400 times that of their employees.

While American workers struggle, multinational corporations, which are often guided by American executives and extremely wealthy share-holders, have introduced human beings in developing nations to the profound misery of Dickensonian Capitalism. When laws in the United States began making it prohibitive for the Social Darwinists to exploit employees and the environment to the extent that it engorged their bank accounts, they began moving their operations to countries which did not have these "harsh constraints".

What you need is to be around some gun oil and the smoke from bullet cartridges . Nothing finer in the morning then the combination of those smells .
This will bring you back to reality and you will never again ant to go near a democrat .
They would destroy our way of life if given the chance .

Clearly you don't want to be a Democrat, so don't be a Democrat. If the party doesn't fit your needs then stay out of it. Democrats aren't trying to offer you anything.

Why do you feel the need to get on YA and spout off these "questions", you must be extremely insecure. Almost like you have to make these huge public justifications about your beliefs to justify these beliefs to yourself.

Nobody cares about your opinions, really. We all have our own issues to deal with. If you have an intelligent question to ask, by all means do so. If you're just going to spew out more sludge, keep it to yourself, you're just wasting everyone's time.

Truthfully. not much the way they are going. But there are only two alternatives.
A) more wars; budget deficits til we drop (or go bankrupt); a police state; and eventually sky high taxes...all under the Republicans, or...

B) a third party.

Its really an easy choice when you mull it over.

Sounds like you just answered your own question.

Unless you like flip-flops and empty promises, I wouldn't suggest turning to the democratic party. Go for the republicans, the lesser of the two evils.

The possibilty of not being soo simple minded, and security, and the possibilty of redeeming the nation of USA itself. But one thing is for sure, all of USA's politics are whack, so I don't really blame you for picking whack politicans.

The way you phrase your question with venom towards democrats indicates it would be a waste of time to even try to convince you with reasonable arguments as you would simply ignore them.
