Wow. Sometimes I wish there really was a 'left'. Then we could have a real discussion on the merits. As it is it's not worth the time arguing against this 'strawman' enemy of the people. First, nobody is bashing 'productive' people. For some reason the Ministry of Right Wing Propaganda wants folks to believe that the strawman spokescritter of the mythical 'left' has it in for all arrow straight, highly productive, squeeky-clean, highly moral and true-blue American 'conservatives. They repeat this BS over and over again because it's an excellent way to avoid the real questions of our times. Bring up the possiblity of a real discussion about Universal Health INSURANCE, and watch these bozos hammer you with the sins of 'government health CARE. Not that anyone suggested that..nobody but the 'socialist strawman'. I have an idea...let's vote these characters out of office and start all over. All in favor......!!!

Just who are you assuming is productive?????? Are you suggesting the right has some monopoly on productivity?
I know plenty of people on the moderate left who are highly effective and productive business people and professionals.
And there are plenty of righties who are not productive, or who have inherited their money and don't know what to do with it.
For the gentleman who suggests that people on the left are lawyers etc. Have got the intellectual equipment to get a law degree? I am not a big fan of the law profession, but to say they do not have to work hard is utter bs.

This is not to answer your question. I just find it odd that you use a character from Ken Kesey as your avatar. He was a liberal, to say the least. Recently, a newscaster asked his friend, Tom Wolfe, how President Bush would be remembered in history. His reply was, "As the most ignorant president in history."

Almost 100% of college professers in the US are democrat.
I think it is clear, to me anyway, that anyone who is a democrat is a thinker.
If one is a republican, he tends to follow whoever his leader might be at the moment.
Another huge difference is the dems simply allow others to be themseves.
