I would not consider him corrupt just wrong headed in this case. The judge expressly ordered no work release and NO ELECTRONIC MONITORING. There is where he overreached when he violated the judge's order. It is within his job description to release people early from the jail system he runs especially due to overcrowding ( he has 22, 000 people in his jail) and can dictate the length of time served and time off for good behavior.

What's corrupt? The Sheriff has the authority to conduct early releases from jail, it's policy, and it's law.
The Judge didn't like it in this case, you think this doesn't happen pretty regularly? Do you really think the Sheriff signs off on every release from each of his county jails? I'm sure it was the jail Watch Commander that released Paris, unfortunately due to vicarious liability, the Sheriff will take the hit for it.
They didn't violate any law or policy.

yes, look at his past history with celebs. Sure he is, people just keep voting him in because they know they can make a donation and get out of jail... Pretty bad but, it happens alot more than people think. The old saying "money talks and b.s. walks" is very true

Better watch his bank account cuz I'll bet there's a big deposit from Paris ... How stupid could he be? Obviously pretty stupid.

It does seem he overstepped his bounds. Whether that is corruption or not is a different story.
