Why is everyone so upset about how easy paris got off??? She didn't hurt anyone???
Actually I believe she got away far too easy, but to make my point I said it that way.
If one is upset with that, WHY aren't you upset with the way ted kennedy got away with man slaughter?? Why is he still in the senete and why hasn't anyone called for him to be in prison??

you go to a store to buy something cheaper than another store.

A few people blamed greedy companies for trying to save money. After all, if they are greedy than so are people who go to Wal Mart to save money on items they need.

Really, what is the difference? The money that businesses want to save belongs to them. Why is it any different than us?

When Nancy Pelosi was elected Speaker of the House of Representatives, she promised to to enact serious, and long overdue, ethical reforms — to stop the growing trend of legislators and their families accepting gifts, trips, and jobs from lobbyists and corporations.

Well, some things never change.

Several days ago, Newsmax.com disclosed that in February, shortly after his mother became the first woman speaker, Paul Pelosi Jr., was hired by InfoUSA for $180,000 a year as its vice president for Strategic Planning. Pelosi also kept his other full-time day job as a mortgage loan officer for Countrywide Loans in California. And, unlike all of the other InfoUSA employees, he did not report to work at the company's headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska.

InfoUSA is the same company that has been cited by the New York Times for creating marketing lists that were used by con artists to fleece vulnerable elderly people. The lists had provocative names and offered the names of elderly people with cancer, elderly people with Alzheimer's and gamblers over 55 years of age who think their luck will change. After purchasing the lists, the con artists would call and convince the elderly person that they had actually ordered an expensive item. Once they received the victim's financial information, they often emptied their bank accounts, leaving many people penniless. Some of InfoUSA's internal e-mails suggest that company employees were aware that several of the companies they sold the lists to were under investigation.

And InfoUSA is also the same company that Bill Clinton works for as a consultant, and for which the former president was paid $3.3 million over the past five years. In addition, the Clintons got $900,000 worth of free travel.

Pelosi insisted that the unusual job opportunity had nothing to do with his relationship with his famous and influential mother. He just sent in an application for a job and they hired him.

Of course.

Are we ready to cede control of wealth to the government in the USA?
People complain of powerful business cartels controlling the government. Some people feel limits should be put on how rich businesses and other people are allowed to become. These people feel the government, not the people, should control the wealth of the country for the common good.
How difficult is it, tho, to stop the practices of a corrupt business cartel as opposed to a corrupt, all powerful government?
The American Revolution was fought to take control of the wealth away from an all powerful government and place it in the hands of the people. Do we want to cede this power back to the government under the guise of the common good? Do we want to limit the economic grow of the country by limited rewards to achievers?

He could have just donated the money to build a school for the impoverished children in his district.

We understand that he has ambition to go higher in life than just a superstar boxer. He can do a lot of things without going into politics.

Why has he been so naive of his limitations outside boxing?

Lets face it...both Bush and Johnson increased the size of government massively (both expanded Medicare for example),

Both got the US stuck in foriegn wars.

Both didn't listen to what the majority of the American people wanted.

Then again, Johnson never had an approval rating near 30%, and Johnson redeemed himself on civil rights issues.

Maybe history is repeating itself after 40 years?

(BTW, my belief is Hillary Clinton will win in 2008, and will be similiar to Nixon in a number of ways.)

I'm curious for all parties, if you had to cast your vote, who would you vote for...I'm doing an informal poll for a class. Keep in mind, we could all change our minds before it actually happens, but if you had to vote today from what you know about the candidates, who would it be.

Please keep it civil, I'm just curious.

At approximately 12:20 am on Wednesday, 6 June 2007, a large Israeli military force, comprising at least 50 soldiers, came to the house of Yehia al-Jabari. Yehia, who was 72-years-old, lived with his family in a two-storey house in the B’er Haram area of Hebron city. Upon opening the front door of the house to the soldiers, Rajih al-Jabari, the 26-year-old son of Yehia, was dragged outside. Without any warning or justification, the Israeli soldiers began to beat Rajih, violently hitting his head against the wall of the house. At this point, Yehia, who had only moments earlier returned home from visiting a relative, came outside with his wife Fatima to see what was happening. Seeing the soldiers attacking his son, Yehia, who was unarmed, attempted to intervene and protect his son. While doing so, he was shot once in the forehead by an Israeli soldier; the bullet exiting the rear of his head. He then fell to the ground, where he lay motionless, presumably having been killed instantly. Immediately afterward, his wife, who was also unarmed, began screaming and attempted to reach Yehia’s body. An Israeli soldier, however, opened fire on her, hitting her six times. Fatima, who was hit in numerous parts of her body, including the head and chest, fell to the ground.

At this time, two of Yehia’s sons, 24-year-old Kamil and 36-year-old Radi, exited the front door of the house. There, they found their parents lying in pools of blood on the ground, surrounded by a large number of Israeli soldiers. In attempting to move their father’s corpse from the front steps, where it was lying, the two brothers were screamed at by an Israeli soldier who ordered them to stop. Radi ignored the soldier, pushing him away. In response, however, the soldier opened fire on the brothers, hitting Kamil in the foot. After Kamil had fallen to the ground, Radi knelt beside his father’s body and began to cry. The soldiers, however, began to beat him in an attempt to move him away.

I recently found out that I had a $995.00 bill from a doctor that i have NEVER even met. The physician's office reported it to a collection agency, and the doctor will take no responsibility, of course. The collection agency basically tells me, "tough luck, pay it." I have told them that I will not pay for something I didn't do. I have tried dealing with the doctor and the bill collector, but they tell me there is nothing they can do to help me. Is this true? The incident occurred in 2001 and I just became aware of the problem. I would greatly appreciate some help with this matter. Thank you for your help!
