When Nancy Pelosi was elected Speaker of the House of Representatives, she promised to to enact serious, and long overdue, ethical reforms — to stop the growing trend of legislators and their families accepting gifts, trips, and jobs from lobbyists and corporations.

Well, some things never change.

Several days ago, Newsmax.com disclosed that in February, shortly after his mother became the first woman speaker, Paul Pelosi Jr., was hired by InfoUSA for $180,000 a year as its vice president for Strategic Planning. Pelosi also kept his other full-time day job as a mortgage loan officer for Countrywide Loans in California. And, unlike all of the other InfoUSA employees, he did not report to work at the company's headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska.

InfoUSA is the same company that has been cited by the New York Times for creating marketing lists that were used by con artists to fleece vulnerable elderly people. The lists had provocative names and offered the names of elderly people with cancer, elderly people with Alzheimer's and gamblers over 55 years of age who think their luck will change. After purchasing the lists, the con artists would call and convince the elderly person that they had actually ordered an expensive item. Once they received the victim's financial information, they often emptied their bank accounts, leaving many people penniless. Some of InfoUSA's internal e-mails suggest that company employees were aware that several of the companies they sold the lists to were under investigation.

And InfoUSA is also the same company that Bill Clinton works for as a consultant, and for which the former president was paid $3.3 million over the past five years. In addition, the Clintons got $900,000 worth of free travel.

Pelosi insisted that the unusual job opportunity had nothing to do with his relationship with his famous and influential mother. He just sent in an application for a job and they hired him.

Of course.

Business as usual! You forgot to mention she didnt' ask Jefferson from New Orleans to resign after allegations of misconduct, taking bribes. Even after they found $90,000 in his freezer. Let him even stay on his committees. Oh, then they re-elect him.....
I still believe he hasn't resigned yet even after he has been indited (haven't watched the news in a day or two). If that had been a republican he would have already been taken to trial, sentenced and the key would have been thrown away.
Makes you wonder how our country got the way is has....

Undoubtedly all the political elite, Republicans and Democrats have connections. However, Paul Pelosi's job is likely legitimate, and he's qualified for it. 180,000 is not a high salary for a senior vice president of a publicly traded company. Pelosi, at 38 years old has years of experience in business and the public sector. In addition, he has a law degree and an MBA from Georgetown.

InfoUSA is in the business of selling marketing lists. Every company that does this has made mistakes. It once sold a list to fraudsters who attempted to con elderly people. This has nothing to do with Pelosi.

The House has passed an ethics bill, and it's being considered in the Senate.

Pelosi also said that she would put an end to Earmarks
on funding bills, then asked for an earmark for the San Francisco waterfront, her husband owns property on the
waterfront though it is not in the area where the money is
to be spent, it is close to that area.

By the way, her is a link to support your allegations of InfoUSA
and Bill Clinton, I provided it because there will be those
that do not believe what you are saying and probably will
not believe the link either, but then again it is Obama's blog

The second link is to townhall.com

It should be obvious by now that she has not changed a thing for the better. She's just trying to impose her ultra liberal views on us. She even said that the ability to kill unborn children through embryonic stem cell research is a gift from God. Think about it. That woman is nuts!

Absolutely, business as usual. Other than "helping " her children, one of the first things on her agenda was to whine about the to small aircraft for her to run around in {she and ALL other politicians should fly commercial ! } It's all about power and to hell with the people after you have pulled the wool over their eyes. {the electorate}.

Only thing that has changed is her approval rating. Just barely above Bush at 30%.

Nowhere have you shown that anything unethical took place. The Times piece about InfoUSA has nothing to do with the job Pelosi's son took. Could they have decided to hire him in the hope of having high level contacts in government? Possibly. But that's not illegal or unethical and certainly nothing new.
