yes there is an offence of being drunk in charge of a pedal cycle.
But unlike drink drive the police are not required to place you on an intoximeter . they can just use their judgement, as long as they can evidence it by your skills of driving.

But no, as it is not a motoro vehicle offence, it cannot affect your driving license offences.

As the power to give points etc have to be written into the legislation of each offence.,
And drunk in charge of a pedal cycle doesn't have it it. but there is a recomended fine under pre-tried cases of £500

I never heard about it before, but I assume if you were 'over the limit' or appearing tipsy/drunk while on the bicycle the police would worry for your safety and/or that you could cause an accident.

TBH, I cannot understand why you would take a bicycle to a pub, it is still a means of transportation that you would use and therefore, you can't possibly consider using it if you have 10 beers! I assume you live in the country or something as I have never heard such madness!

Short answer, no, your driving licence is safe

You can as you stated be charged for being drunk in chardge of a cycle on a road, but you cannot be brethalised, or arrested, unless you cannot provide details for serving a court summons. NO different to riding a push bike through a red traffic light, you get a ticket, but no points

Bicycles and beer. Both are wonderful things.

You can be done for being drunk in charge of a bicycle - the maximum penalty is death - if you encounter taxi drivers around closing time.

They can't touch your driving licence for this offence.

Yes, in charge of a whatever on a public highway. If you have a licence it will come in to play. Depends on how stroppy the old bill want to be with you. How much you are weaving around, and as normal, keeping the gob shut when they call you son, and ask stupid questions designed to wind you up and make you bite.

I dont think it will affect your driving licence as that is for motorised vehicles only. As you say, you could and probably would be done for being drunk and disorderly.

..Remember George Jones was arrested on a riding lawnmower. all they can get you for is public intoxication. Thank you for not driving, have a beer for me tonight, and put a light on your bike.

I wouldn't think so, but then, being an American who has never lived in the UK, I'm not familiar with the traffic laws there.
