Land based missiles fire into incoming missiles & destroy missiles with mini rockets &
use LASER
USAF AirBorne Laser System-ABS.
& missiles from naval ships is a Missile Shield.
Fine for Cold War then NOT today since any size civilian ship can carry missiles & fire them within the 300 mile limit & blast the US to pieces.

The one that is currently the subject of debate in eastern Europe consists of a radar system with interceptor missiles.
There are far more sophisticated systems proposed (and might actually be in operation) such as orbital defense laser.
The point is that in a nuclear armed world precautions must be taken. With unstable nations like IRan and N. Korea with nukes it is hardly B.S. to invest in our people's survival.
