The Evangelical Christian Right (or whatever you want to call them) gave a lot of suport to Bush in 2000 and 2004.

Will they be just as unanimous in supporting another candidate in 2008? If so, who?

I know that they are U.S. citizens and can travel back and forth between the U.S. and Puerto Rico without restrictions. I know, I am Puertorrican. So do not call me an idiot for not knowing that, I just want to see what is the opinion out there on how Puertorricans fit in the scheme of things in the U.S.

Everyone has to pay for insurance so they can see a doctor. However, what do the illegal immigrants do who don't have the money to see a doctor or insurance to pay for their visits? Why should we be burdened with high insurance premiums so these people can get free doctor visits?

He is out now and returned to the neighborhood!

RNC shuts down phone bank
WASHINGTON, May 31 (UPI) -- Telephone solicitors say the U.S. Republican National Committee shut down its phone bank because potential givers are angry about immigration policy.

One staffer told The Washington Times that many people they talked to said they would not give money to the party as long as President George W. Bush supports a compromise immigration policy. The staffer said most potential donors are angry "and for 99 percent the No. 1 issue is immigration."

Republican officials said the major reason for shutting down the phone bank was outdated equipment.

"This was not an easy decision," spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt told the Times in an e-mail. "The first and primary motivating factor was the state of the phone bank technology, which was outdated and difficult to maintain. The RNC was advised that we would soon need an entire new system to remain viable."

Schmitt said donations are holding up.

Brown color is everywhere!
from light to dark brown
Brownies are evrywhere.
They might be Catholics, Jews, Protestants, Muslims or Budhists.
They might be rich or poor,
democrats or republicans,
Monolingual or Trilingual,
Brown is just a color, like black or white.
Nothing wrong with that.

I keep hearing the phrase "Judeo-Christian principles that this nation was founded upon" and want someone to explain these principles. As far as I am concerned, if credit for the ideas (principles) that this nation was founded upon is to be given, then it must be given first to the Greeks & Romans and second to the great secular thinkers of the enlightenment. Both Jefferson & Madison while practicing (to varying degrees, and with varying levels of sincerity) Christians also left us with many warnings regarding the influence of religion, and they most assuredly meant the one they were familiar with.

On the one hand they pass legislation to give handouts to those who are employable but refuse to work. This give the recipients no incentive to work and makes them government dependent. On the other hand the Dems are destroying the incentive of others to work hard and earn a decent living because 40% and more of their earnings go to taxes. Indeed, the tax cuts made by the Bush administration which have proven to be so fruitful for our economy will expire unless the Dems change their tax and give away policy.

I assume all of you remember Bush 2 telling Michael D. Brown, then the head of FEMA in 2005, "Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job." And this while New Orleans lay in ruins and thousands of victims were suffering with no aid (not even water and food) in sight, as if we were a 3rd world country.
