Well me and my husband were married at 17, he joined the Army and went to boot camp at 18...14 years later and we are still going strong, he just reenlisted indef. over in Iraq. And I will stand by his side no matter how many lonely days and nights I have to go through. As the saying goes... I love the man I married, soldiering is his life, but I stand among the silent ranks known as the army wife. HOOAH

Thanks For your service my Brother. Long distance relationships are not easy. And starting a relationship with a girl and expecting her to honer it is even tougher. The two keys you need in a relationship are Communication and Trust. Distance make that tough. Unless you have an extraordinary woman at the other end... My recommendation to you would be focus on your job and your family. Read every thing you can on relationships and people skills. These will serve you well in life and help you understand why people do what the do. I've made some recommendations. Good luck and God Bless.

Man, you've had it tough! I feel so sorry for you. Seriously. For me and my sister, there's few things that are more attractive than a man in uniform. My sister was dating a Army guy, but they broke up cus he ended up being a jerk in a way. But I think it's great for Military guys to have a girl back at home. And even though it's hard and lonely for the girl and even for the soldier, it should bring them closer together. But that's only if you communicate with each other as often as you can. My brother's a Marine and he's got a girlfriend and it's working out pretty good. But they have to have good communication. I feel real sorry for you, but the girls you had must've been real twerps. All due respect. Because not all girls are like that. There's a lot of girls out there that love military guys and are faithfull to them. Just keep looking.

no dating a soldiers is not a bad thing. I think it takes a strong woman to be able to love a soldier. You always have the fear that they will not come home. You also have to get used to them being away for a long time. You probably just haven't found the right woman yet. You will one day don't worry.

Dating a soldier can be difficult. You have to be a strong, independent woman. Many women cannot handle all the "alone" time. A soldier does not need this type of needy, dependent woman.
I always liked the tdy's, remotes, etc. Time apart can be good for a relationship. I married my soldier and we're still together 13 yrs later.

Maybe you are not meeting the right women, then again it could be you. Maybe you should go for some counseling. But I really don't think that the first one would have worked for you anyway, I mean if she cheated with 13 guys then she would have eventually cheated on you weather you were a guy in uniform or not.

I would answer no to this question, simply because I was a military wife, the dating part of it all was very exciting. The war stories you hear and not to mention all the stories of the places he or she have visited. When you are dating a soldier the reunions are Sweet as well as the gifts. You have heard the saying absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Nope.
I dated and married mine :) It was challenging but there are lots of good things to it to. It is like a honeymoon whenever he came home. Yes, he was gone a lot and I wrote him every day.
He is out now and has been for a little over a year. I would do it all over again though if he chose to go back.
I am proud he served, fought in the Iraq war and proud what our military stands for.

Nope, I'm marrying mine in July. I'll be honest, it's not easy for either of us. I miss him like crazy most days. Not all girls cheat, sorry about your situation. I've found that people who cheat in the army would have cheated at home anyway (or while their guy or girl is deployed). It takes a lot of trust and love. But I'll deal with the hardships to be with the man i love. I hope you have luck with the ladies in the future.

Speaking as a former member of the Army, National Guard and retired from the Navy, perhaps you should take a good look at yourself and the behaviors you do which might have caused these women to react the way they did. Its not always all the fault of the woman.
