"Great harm has been done to us. We have suffered great loss. And in our grief and anger we have found our mission and our moment. Freedom and fear are at war. The advance of human freedom, the great achievement of our time, and the great hope of every time, now depends on us. Our nation, this generation, will lift a dark threat of violence from our people and our future. We will rally the world to this cause, by our efforts and by our courage. We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail"
President George W. Bush
Address to congress and the nation, September 20,2001

I'm asking this in the political category because I think this is
a disturbing reflection of our society.
Are parents too busy to pay attention? Or are they too busy
to teach their children that small animals have feelings &
can feel pain?
Are these children victims of abuse, themselves?

Both came to power through fraudulent elections. Both love to discriminate against racial minorities. Both persecute homosexuals. Both are incredibly militaristic. Both see imperialistic war as the solution to economic problems. Both would willingly give their leader dictatorial powers. Both believe in torture. Both spy on their own citizens. Both are rabidly nationalistic. Both hate a free press. Both threaten violence to political opponents. Both love big corporations and would like to outlaw labor unions. Both think a woman's place is in the home, making babies. Both are anti-intellectual.

The only difference I could think of was that most Republicans don't hate Jews, but they do hate Muslims and atheists ...

I am in no way saying that soldiers are not brave, but on commercials, they tell us that soldiers are dying for our freedom. I hate to break it to you, but no soldier has died for America's freedom since WWII. My brother is in the marines, and he agree's with me. He dosen't think we should be over there saying we are fighting for our freedom, because it's just a bumper sticker slogan.

Every conservationist knows you never feed wild animals. Once wild animals recognize humans as a food source, they lose their ability to forrage on their own.
Regardless of humans higher thinking ability, they too can become domesticated by well meaning people who become their food source.
A decades long welfare program has filled our inner cities with domesticated humans, humans who depend on other humans as their food source. Their will to survive and their cunning is applied to preserving that source of food at all cost.
Charity, althought given with good intent, does nothing to eliminate poverty. It only sustains it. Only opportunity can lift people from poverty into prosperity.
Is it too late, tho, to return the domesticated humans into the wilds of civilization where they can once again forrage on their own and prosper? Are they even capable anymore of grasping onto opportunity, or has the dole destroy any hope?

A political faction has degenerated into a quasi-religios sect. It is a sect that sounds as if it believes America is in the early stages of an idiological civil war. It promotes its core beliefs as if they are impervious to reason. And it is unleashing and encouraging ugly and violent impulses.

What makes their zeal so dangerous for our country is their willingness to do seroius damage to our American democracy in order to satisfy their lust for a one-party domination of all three branches of government and the enactment of dogma as policy.

They seek nothing less than absolute power. Their grand design is an all-powerful executive using a weakened legislature to fasion a compliant judiciary in it's own image.

How many leave days are allowed when a soldier comes back from a 15 month deployment? Does it all depend on how many days they earned and do they subtract mid tour leave from total amount of days earned? I am just curious...trying to plan a vacation with my soldier!

This idiot Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr posted a blog on this website:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/1714645/posts

Now I know that lots of idiots are out there posting idiodic things but I think this one takes the cake. He says that it is unconstitutional to make drunk driving illegal. That the person hasnt commited a crime yet so they are being covicted because of the probability of getting into an accident.

My question is what do you think of this?

I personally feel that punishment should be much more extreme. When you get into a car drunk you are taking everyone on the roads life into hands. A person doesn't have the right to risk mine or my childs life. I think drunk drivers should be jailed on the first offense for at least 6 months and lose their license for 1 year after that. Then if they get a second offense they should be brought up on attemted murder charges for each person they passed on the road (if that number can be determined)

On an MSNBC newscast tonight they had a man on defending this book, about some kids who start a lemonade stand and two Liberals who look just like Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton do everything to get in their way. It is targeted to the 9-12 year old age groups. Has this country gotten so shallow that we are now brainwashing our children? I remember all the talk over that Muslim Mickey Mouse brainwashing Palestinian children. The two incidents seem to make us contradict ourselves.

My uncle might be forced into being put in a retirement home if his foot does not get better and he can "prove" that he can live on his own.He is 76. I am the executor of his will and I am wondering if I have him liquidate his assets now and the family stores his money in a bank so the convelecent home does not have access to it,if this is legal. After all it is his money but if he has to stay in home I am sure they will use up all his estate and then Medicare will kick in..Is this legal to "give" his money away to family so old folks home wont be able to take it all if he can't get out?He says it is just like living in prison with out the bars on the windows.I regret that oldness is wasted on the elderly.I sure don't look forward to growing old..

GOERING: You must differentiate between the two categories; those who had committed some act of treason against the new state or those who might be proved to have committed such an act, were naturally turned over to the courts. The others, however, of whom one might expect such acts, but who had not yet committed them, were taken into protective custody, and these were the people who were taken to concentration camps. I am now speaking of what happened at the beginning. Later things changed a great deal. Likewise, if for political reasons-to answer your question- someone was taken into protective custody, that is, purely for reasons of state, this could not be reviewed or stopped by any court. Later, when some people were also taken into protective custody for nonpolitical reasons, people who had opposed the system in some other way, I once, as Prussian Prime Minister and Reich Minister of the Interior, I remember...

Explain why. . .

When is OK to say: " Let themselves take care of themselves and keep hands off...... blah blah blah..."
and When is OK to say: Let's go to war, send our troops and bomb and invade civilian areas, like in Irak ?
Cuba is a communist anti-american regime.

Does the USA President should leave any country to decide, what they want to do with their own goverments. ? ( Leave anti-American and Communist Cubans to decide what they want?

or

In the Middle East>>>>:
If Israel can defend themselves , as many Americans think, Why we sent our troops to Irak??????
Thanks to the weapons we gave Israel, they feel they can fight any war themselves, but should we do the same with other counrtries? Give them Weapons of Mass destruction?
