A recent university study of Bill O'Reilly's broadcasts (radio and television) showed that the talk show host makes racial slurs, sexual slurs, and other slurs against people every 6.8 seconds on average. So, he's a hate-monger. There's a fact. The other fact is Bill O'Reilly has never served in the military but he loves slamming liberals who HAVE served in the military, some with honor and distinction, by calling them "cowards".

That's your typical conservative.

They are the masters of avoiding the issue and attacking the source.

I think it has something to do with the 2nd amendment. I also recall that Air America used to say some pretty stupid and hateful nonsense regularly when George Soros was still paying them to broadcast their biases.

Are there talk show hosts on either side of the political spectrum who admit that those on the other side might be sincere, well-intentioned people who simply think differently than he/she?

Are we becoming a nation of liberals, on one side, who will automatically believe and repeat anything negative they hear about a conservative, no matter how ridiculous the charge; and conservatives on the other side who will automatically believe and repeat anything negative they hear about a liberal without checking to see or even worrying about how true or false the accusation?

Assault is a crime, so I assume you're speaking metaphorically.

If so, your question contains the answer, such verbal assaults are mere rhetoric, specifically a fallacy known as "Ad Hominem" and, even bad debate tactics by objectionable individuals are still Free Speach.

Freedom of Speech

You have the freedom to turn the channel which is what I suggest. Also, why do people agree to come on the air with him if they know what is about to happen??

I don't think that type of behavior is acceptable from anyone. It shows a total lack of respect for the people he attacks. People deserve to be treated with respect, even when we don't agree with their point of views.

Its not O.K but you have to realize that he only attacks people he knows wouldn't come out as strong towards him.
"O'Really?" just needs a smackdown like the one Bill Clinton laid on Mike Wallace.
