Go to the State's Department of Correction and choose the option of inmate inquiry. Usually it will make you aware of the cookies that are attached and then you can proceed.

If you mean a local jail, then you have to call the jail itself. If you don't know what facility, there's no resource I'm aware of to just check where someone might be... each county has it's own independent jail... many have more than one!

If you mean prison, each state runs their own prison system... and the Federal government has federal prisons, too. So... you'd need to contact the state department of corrections in that state to determine if he's in prison.

if you mean prison. www.prisonpenpals.com but if your looking for someone in particular. just look up your states correctional facility. and then you can locate people.
