And should it be?

They say- priority is usually given to the educated, skilled, and wealthy. Less privileged individuals, including the mass of poor people in low-income countries, cannot avail of these immigration opportunities. This inequality has also been criticized as conflicting with the principle of equal opportunities, which apply (at least in theory) within democratic nation-states. The fact that the door is closed for the unskilled, while at the same time many developed countries have a huge demand for unskilled labor, "is a major factor in illegal immigration." The contradictory nature of this policy - which specifically disadvantages the unskilled immigrants while exploiting their labor - has also been criticized on ethical grounds.

What do you think? True or Not true? Is it the right thing to do?

If i get a felony reduced to misdemeanor for a NON-drug or violent related crime do they drug test during the 1 year of probation? I don't see why they would since it has nothing to do with the crime but I wanted to make sure.

it seems that they are everywhere, pist off and upset that they went to war on false pretenses, lies. (troops words, not mine)and yes, we are talking about iraq, not afghanistan. HUGE difference. who do they think they are speaking out and complaining?? and these generals speaking out against the war, when the president wants their valid opinions, he will tell them what it is, right?? "haliburton is robbing our country blind" " haliburton makes tons more money for driving the same runs we do" ...........what a bunch of cry babies right? next they will want to enjoy the same health benefits as our politicians do (90 days in, full QUALITY, 100%coverage for life) when they get home. they need to shut up and do as they are told just like those know it all generals. the president is the decider!!! comander and chief!!! the president is a brilliant mastermind !!! these winey comlpaining troops needs to just give it another 20 years to work, what the worst that could happen, right????

In Vietnam, we Soviets clearly showed you that we had the military capability to destroy your overrated weak military. You sent in 180,000 troops and we sent 20,000 of them six feet under causing national embarassment in your so-called "superpower".

I'm not an environmentalist. In fact, I take giant craps in level 1 trout streams.

I think I am pretty lucky that "rabid environmentalists" are protecting oil exploration in the states. I'm not sure where I am going with this... it seems like a lot of people are parroting the environmentalists are keeping the gas prices high.

I'd like to know how, honestly. Strict environmental regulations = good. I'm guessing having a limited commodity that people have an insatiable need for based on dwindling refinery capacity probably has a larger role. Not to mention an increase in supply would cut into profit margins at least temporarily.

Anyways, please share.

Do Democrats not want these people (who according to them had few other options in life) getting extra cash - which is tax free- for risking everything. Cut the funding and the Democrats make a political mistake in winning over the military.

An intelligent political move by the Democrats would be to give Bush what he wants, and keep this HIS war, by doing so they can continue to blame him and win the WH Senate and House of Reps.

Before this gets booted.... (the Scots obviously run Yahoo or have no sense of humour!!!!!)

I propose
1. Republic of Jockistan
2. Jibbrovia (as proposed once by Bill Connolly)
3. The Braveheart International Theme Park- the whole of Scotland becomes a giant theme park and they have to dress up in traditional garb and live in turf crofts, and actually learn to be nice to the English people that put the bread and fried mars bars on their plates.... Suggestions welcome....

I'm not trying to say that Gore or Kerry were better choices, but there were other options. The American voter is not limited to choose only the names that appear on the ballot. You can always write in your own candidate. I've heard too many folks say things like " . . . . I didn't really want to vote for W, but Kerry was funny lookin' so I did it anyway." or " . . . .I didn't want to waste my vote on Kerrry cause I knew he wouldn't win, so I voted Bush even though I disagree with his policies."
I know that many people don't even realize that we have the "write in" option for elections, but it exists for a reason.
Just be careful what you write.
I put down JACKAZZ and look what happened.

In his report, Detective Tyran wrote the following:

I opened the closet door and checked the immediate visible area. I then checked behind the open door and noticed on the floor two cases of ammunition and one green metal army ammo case. I scanned back across the closet and noticed in the back left corner a black duffle bag that was standing upright and partially open.

When I focused my vision on the opening of the bag, I observed what appeared to be the front sights of rifles. These sights were not the standard beaded post sights, but sights that were common on known assault rifles. From where I was standing I could not tell if they were real or if they were toys. I moved into the closet and got a closer look into the bag through the opening. At this time, I observed metal barrels, wooden stocks and "banana" style magazines. I felt confident that the weapons were real. I left the items as I found them and went to secure the bathroom.

It appeared that after I had opened the closet door, Katie left the room as if we were going to find something or someone.

Upon finding these items, Detective Ronran informed all present of the items and announced that he needed to call a supervisor because of the seriousness of the situation.

Captain Merriman arrived and decided that the weapons be removed from the residence. Also, the officers determined that Taylor had been previously convicted of a misdemeanor involving domestic violence and was in illegal possession of the firearms as a prohibited person under Title 18, United States Code, Section 922(g)(9).

Prior to trial, the defense counsel for Taylor moved to suppress the firearms and ammunition that were seized from his apartment. Discuss the legal principles that would apply to this motion to suppress and how the court should rule.
